The Galaxy Note 8 can’t beat the iPhone 7 Plus’s AnTuTu benchmark record
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The Galaxy Note 8 is the next big thing coming from Samsung, the company made sure we all know that. It’s basically a pumped up Galaxy S8, a phone that gets a better camera, a stylus, a 3D Touch-like display, and new software tricks. But at its core, the Galaxy Note 8 is as powerful as the Galaxy S8. Or, at least, it should be. A new benchmark leak, however, indicates the Galaxy Note 8 might not be able to beat the iPhone 7 Plus’s record like the Galaxy S8 did. Continue reading... Netflix just delivered a huge blow to Disney
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
It was just last week that Disney declared a streaming war on Netflix by announcing plans to create two streaming services for movies and sports. Disney also said that come 2019, it’ll stop licensing new movies to its future rival. Netflix, meanwhile, stated that it’s still negotiating rights to some of Disney’s most popular franchises, including the Star Wars and Marvel movies. At the same time, however, it looks like Netflix has been working on a massive anti-Disney move for quite some time. Continue reading... Nine-year-old boy gets closer to scoring NASA’s Planetary Protection gig than you ever will
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
Unless you're a seasoned NASA engineer with knowledge of planetary protection protocols and the guidelines that astronauts and scientists much adhere to in order to prevent humanity from contaminating worlds (including our own), there's very little chance you have a shot at landing NASA's new Planetary Protection Officer position. That is, unless you're nine-year-old Jack Davis, who wrote to the agency with the hopes of scoring the job, and definitely did not get a denial. Continue reading... How to livestream the solar eclipse from your local nuclear bunker
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
Next week, the sun is going to be blocked out -- hopefully, by the moon, rather than a hail of ICBMs. A rare solar eclipse will be visible from part of the US mainland for the first time in decades, but if you're not in the eclipse corridor, never fear. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and cable news, you'll be able to experience the solar eclipse from anywhere with an internet connection, with zero risk of frying your eyes at the same time. Citing safety concerns, Amazon offers refunds on some solar eclipse glasses
by Guest FoxNews.com- 0 replies
Amazon has offered refunds on some solar eclipse glasses purchased via its site, citing concerns about consumer safety. “Out of an abundance of caution and in the interests of our customers, we asked third-party sellers that were offering solar eclipse glasses to provide documentation to verify their products were compliant with relevant safety standards,” explained Amazon, in a statement emailed to Fox News. “The offers from sellers who provided this safety documentation remain available to customers. The listings from sellers who did not provide the appropriate documentation have been removed and customers who purchased from them were notified last week.” Continue…

by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

NASA's incredibly successful Cassini probe has delivered a wealth of information about Saturn and its many moons during its 13+ years hanging around the planet, but all good things must come to an end. An end is exactly what Cassini will experience in September when it burns up in Saturn's atmosphere, and the craft just began the last phase of its dramatic series of dives that will bring it closer to the planet than it's ever been before. Google pays Apple $3 billion to be the default search engine on the iPhone
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

As the Android vs iPhone rivalry began to intensify a few years ago, Apple pulled a power move and quickly removed Google apps like YouTube and Google Maps from the iOS homescreen, the most valuable piece of screen real estate in mobile. These days, Apple and Google remain fierce competitors in the mobile space, but the two companies still enjoy a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship when it comes to mobile Safari. It's no surprise that iPhone 8 supply will be constrained this fall, but the new smartphone might not be the only Apple product you'll have trouble getting your hands on in late 2017. A report from Nikkei Asian Review indicates that electronics maker Inventec Appliances, which is expected to begin shipping the HomePod smart speaker before the end of the year, will start with a fairly limited supply. You only have one week to save on these popular Bose headphones
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

Wireless headphones are all the rage these days, and there are hundreds of different Bluetooth headphone models out there that are terrific. Of course, there’s something to be said for wired headphones and not having yet another device that needs to be charged every few days. This is especially true for noise cancelling headphones, which eat through a rechargeable battery faster than normal. If you get wired noise cancelling headphones like the Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones, however, they take an AAA battery that lasts for a long time before needing to be swapped out. These awesome headphones are on sale on Amazon right now until the end of the…

John Oliver explains North Korea, that other giant crisis you forgot about
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

With this weekend's news cycle understandably absorbed with the events in Charlottesville, it's easy to forget that a game of nuclear brinksmanship between a pair of stubborn leaders is accelerating rapidly towards the use of nuclear weapons. Luckily, late-night comedians are here to remind us about the impending fall of civilization. John Oliver's Last Week Tonight dedicated its main topic to North Korea this week, and answers some surprisingly basic questions: what's going on, how did we get here, and are we all about to die? Mewtwo is coming soon to Exclusive Raid Battles in ‘Pokemon Go’
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

Nearly two years ago, The Pokemon Company shared the first trailer for Pokemon Go on YouTube. In it, we saw hundreds of players gather in Times Square and work together to defeat and capture Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. To the disappointment of many players, Mewtwo wasn't in the game when it arrived on iOS and Android last summer, but at the Pokemon GO Stadium event in Japan on Monday, Niantic fulfilled the promise of that trailer by giving thousands of players the chance to catch Mewtwo. by Guest Jeff Causey- 0 replies
