Samsung’s Galaxy S8 rumored to have a partial pressure-sensitive display
by Guest Brad Ward- 0 replies
A new report from Korea’s The Investor says that Samsung Display is working on a pressure-sensitive OLED display for the Galaxy S8. Pressure sensitivity isn’t a new thing. Apple has been doing it for awhile now, and so has Huawei. It would, in a way, make the Galaxy S8 much more usable; however, the report says […] Come comment on this article: Samsung’s Galaxy S8 rumored to have a partial pressure-sensitive display Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

New report says one of the iPhone 8’s biggest design changes isn’t what we thought
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
After a report said a few days ago that the iPhone 8 will feature a flat screen rather than the curved display almost all other rumors have predicted, a new story may shed some light on the screen’s curvature. Apparently, the iPhone 8’s screen will indeed be curved, but not as curved as the Galaxy S7 edge. It won’t be flat like the screen on the iPhone 6/6s/7, and instead may be slightly curved to follow the 2.5D edges of the glass face. In other words, this new report mimics exactly what we said last month when we speculated that reports of the next-generation iPhone's curved screen had been greatly exaggerated. Continue reading... Galaxy S8 vs. iPhone 7 Plus: Hands-on video with S8 mockup shows how they compare
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies
Apple's iPhone 7 Plus features a screen that measures 5.5 inches diagonally. While nothing is set in stone at this point, multiple reports from reliable sources suggest that the Galaxy S8 — the smaller of the two flagship phones set to be unveiled by Samsung two weeks from today — sports a display that measures 5.8 inches diagonally. On paper, it seems like these two smartphones should be relatively similar in size, no? Well, as we can see in a new hands-on comparison video, Samsung's bold new Galaxy S8 design is even more impressive than we thought when you line it up next to Apple's flagship phablet. Watch the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s gorgeous new movie ‘Coco’
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

After pumping out smash hit after smash hit for a decade and a half, Pixar finally stumbled with the release of Cars 2. It was the studio's first sequel outside of the Toy Story franchise and first critical miss in Pixar's storied history. Brave and Monsters University fared better, but neither received the same acclaim as Wall-E, Up or virtually any of the studio's film from the 2000s. Pixar was in something of a slump. A remake of ‘The Matrix’ is in the works, but likely without Keanu Reeves
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies
The Matrix is widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction films of all time, and now it looks like a reboot may be in the works with the movie's twentieth anniversary on the horizon. The film stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, a computer hacker who learns that the reality in which people thought they were living is actually a ruse called the Matrix, which had been designed and engineered by sentient computers that kept humans in a dream-like state and use them as fuel sources to power their cities. A team of rebels with the ability to enter and exit the Matrix find Neo in order to wake him from his dream, and he spends the rest of his time in The Matrix trilogy leading…

Fragmentation is word too often associated with the Android ecosystem and arguably one of the biggest issues plaguing Google and its hardware partners. The iPhone you want probably won’t launch in September
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The iPhone 8 will be unlike any iPhone Apple made to date when it comes to design and features. It’ll have a large bezel-free display, no home button, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen, and wireless charging. But there are also other differences you won’t appreciate. The entry price for the iPhone 8 will be a lot higher than what a new iPhone usually costs, and the handset might not be available in stores in mid- to late September, as we all expect. Apple found guilty of iPhone price-fixing scheme in Russia
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

This past August, Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) said that Apple may have orchestrated a price-fixing scheme in the country via its network of Apple authorized resellers, an allegation Apple vehemently denied. "Resellers set their own prices for the Apple products they sell in Russia and around the world," Apple said at the time. Continue reading... Pictures emerge of Apple’s secret iPhone calibration machine
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

Apple is weirdly protective over the repair system that goes on at the Apple Store. You'd think that there aren't many secrets to do with replacing glass screens and fixing iPhones that have gone for a swim in the toilet, but in Apple's secret walled garden, everything is a trade secret. Motherboard's Jason Koebler has been reporting on the Apple Store's repair system for a while now, and he finally got his hands on the holy grail: pictures of Apple's secret repair machine, which allows Apple to replace the Touch ID sensor on repaired phones. That's a big deal, because it's the one component that third-party repair stores have been unable to crack so far. The calibrati…

Apple to launch brand new iPads in early April at Apple Campus inauguration event
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

A report earlier this week said Apple is expected to take the wraps off its 2017 iPads in the coming weeks, a tablet family that’s supposed to bring over a brand new iPad Pro flavor. Usually, Apple announces such new products during special keynotes, but some believed that Apple might launch the new iOS tablets without hosting a media event. A new report out of Asia now claims that a keynote is very much in the works for early April. Apple’s first major keynote of the year will also double as the first event to be held at Apple’s new headquarters. Continue reading... Google is trying really hard to make a smart jacket you won’t totally hate
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

If you're not tired of hearing the word "smart" in front of random appliances, furniture, and pieces of clothing, Google has a hot pitch for you. It's a smart jacket from Levi's and it uses Google's smart textiles platform that goes by the nickname "Project Jacquard." It's being shown off this week at SXSW, but even if you saw the jacket being worn by a fellow festival-goer, there's a really good chance you wouldn't even realize it. Continue reading... Bugatti made a yacht and it’s exactly as absurd as you’re imagining
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Luxury supercar manufacturer Bugatti doesn't have any trouble with brand recognition. The company's Veyron and Chiron sports cars are some of the most recognizable and desirable vehicles ever to grace pavement, and even with price tags in excess of $2 million there are still plenty of buyers. Bugatti is now going to its best to duplicate its four-wheeled success story by swapping the road for waves with its new, limited edition yachts. Continue reading...
