It’s easy for Samsung to brag about the high quality of their displays for smartphones and tablets, and how great they are for consuming media because of their bright, crisp colors, but the screen isn’t all there is to watching a movie or TV show. Sound quality is often an overlooked feature in smart devices […] Come comment on this article: Samsung is taking audio seriously with AKG by HARMAN partnership Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book keep the S Pen alive
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies

We were all expecting some new tablets from Samsung at MWC, but I don’t think anyone expected them to give us several spiritual successors to the old Galaxy Note tablets. We have the Galaxy Tab S3 and the Galaxy Book, a 2-in-1 Windows tablet that comes in two flavors. And yes, it has S Pen […] Come comment on this article: Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book keep the S Pen alive Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

In an otherwise tablet-dominated press release in Barcelona, Samsung found 15 seconds to tease its next big smartphone for all of us. As expected, we're going to have to wait a month longer for the Galaxy S8 launch, but it could well be worth it. Continue reading... Nokia 3310 hands-on: not the retro featurephone you’re looking for

On Sunday afternoon, Nokia's new Finnish overlord, HMD Global, confirmed what many rumors said before the kickstart of this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The iconic Nokia 3310 is being revived this year, under HMD Global’s version of Nokia. Unfortunately, it looks less like Nokia's big comeback, and more like a phone that just plain sucks. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Galaxy Book 10 and Galaxy Book 12: Everything you need to know

Samsung fans, prepare to be disappointed. The company's big MWC 2017 press conference is about to begin, but we met with Samsung last week and we already know everything the company plans to unveil on stage on Sunday in Barcelona. When the show is over in an hour or so, you will be disappointed. I'm not suggesting the three new devices Samsung is about to unveil are bad devices. In fact, quite the opposite: I've spent time with the brand new Galaxy Book 12, Galaxy Book 10 and Galaxy Tab S3, and they're all impressive gadgets in their own right. But Samsung fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting one announcement in particular — the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+…

Samsung is about to unveil a bunch of new products, but the two devices the company's fans want to see most won’t be here. Well, they might be teased in a short video, according to leaks, but Samsung won’t announce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in Barcelona today. The phones were supposed to debut at MWC 2017, reports indicated, but then Samsung had to deal with the Galaxy Note 7 recall and ensuing investigation. But Samsung still has hot new Android toys to show to the world today. The company's big press conference from MWC 2017 is about to start, and you can watch live streaming video from the event below. Here’s the three new Nokia Android phones you’ve been waiting for
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

About five years too late, Nokia has finally entered the Android market. It's probably not quite what you were expecting: the phones really come from Nokia's new Finnish owner, HMD Global. But hey, they're Nokia phones running Android, and they look half-decent, so who are we to complain? Things get better when you hear about the design decisions HMD has been making. Just a few small companies (and Motorola) have done in the past, HMD is shipping all three phones with pure Android, no gimmicks, no bundled apps, and no bungled re-skinning. Continue reading... The Nokia 3310 is officially back, and yes, it plays Snake
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
Either the rumors are true or you just slipped a long way back in time, because live on a stage in Barcelona, Nokia just announced the 3310, again. This time around, it's a $50 handset that looks a lot thinner and lighter than the original. There's a 2.4-inch all-color screen (!!!), a microSD slot, and a full two megapixel camera. It comes in four colors: yellow, red, grey and dark blue. There's precious little to do on the phone, because unlike the other new handsets Nokia just announced, it only runs Nokia's new Series 30+ software, rather than Anddroid. That means that there is a Snake game, but nothing else really to do. You can call, send basic picture messages, a…

Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus hands-on: The Moto G just went premium
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

Motorola’s Moto G phones have been some of the most popular mid-range Android handsets we’ve ever seen. Year after year, Motorola kept upgrading the phones while keeping retail price surprisingly low. Multiple rumors ahead of this year’s Mobile World Congress edition suggested that Lenovo, Motorola’s parent company, plans to come out with a new Moto G5 Plus at the event, and the leaks were obviously accurate. The company launched not one but two distinct Moto G5 models during its special media event on Sunday, with the bold goal of offering buyers a premium smartphone experience that won’t break the bank. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Nokia, the former undisputed king of the mobile phone business, decided a few years not to do the one thing its fans asked for, and the one thing everyone else was doing. It stood against the Android change and decided to put everything it had behind Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. That decision ultimately killed Nokia’s smartphone ambitions. But the giant is not completely out of the game, and while it has a tough road ahead, the Nokia phone brand is not going to die without putting up one more fight. The company has a major press event about to begin here at MWC 2017, and you can follow the live stream below along with our live blo…

LIVE COVERAGE: Huawei is about to reveal its brand new iPhone killer
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
It’s no secret that Huawei is going after Apple in the phone business. The Chinese company is looking to offer buyers better alternatives to Apple’s iPhones, while simultaneously challenging Samsung and the rest of the Android pack. At this year’s Mobile World Congress, Huawei is expected to unveil the Huawei P10 flagship and a series of Huawei Watch 2 models. Considering Samsung won't be unveiling any new phones this year, as the Galaxy S8’s announcement had to be pushed back in the wake of the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, the Huawei P10 might stand out as one of the better Android alternatives out there. It’ll certainly compete directly against the LG G6, which was unveile…

LG G6 hands-on: 42 days at the top
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies
I can't see the future, but I have been doing this long enough to know a thing or two. For example, I know a gorgeous new flagship smartphone when I see one, and there's absolutely no question that the LG G6 is a gorgeous flagship smartphone. Inside and out, the all-new G6 is an impressive feat of engineering, packing a huge 5.7-inch Quad HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio into a phone that measures 148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm. To put that into perspective, the G6 stuffs a display that's larger than the 5.5-inch screen in the iPhone 7 Plus into a phone with a footprint that is barely bigger than the iPhone 7, which is equipped with a 4.7-inch display. Of course, I have al…

Interview: Secret messaging app Confide wins new fans in the Trump era
by Guest Andy Meek- 0 replies
It started with an email, which led to a swapping of voicemails, which led to several days of back and forth until the two professionals trying to connect with each other finally decided -- this is taking too long; it shouldn’t have to be this hard to communicate. So they did what any technology-minded executive with means would do in that scenario. They launched an app. It was back in 2013, and the result was Confide, a secret messaging app -- Snapchat for professionals, as they like to call it -- whose chats self-destruct after they’ve been read. This tiny laptop charger is the accessory all MacBooks need
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
The MacBook charger is an iconic design that is, by all accounts, a good piece of work. It's a little more elegant and refined than the ugly black bricks most laptops ship with, and a reason why people are willing to repeatedly spend $80 to replace it every time the cable craps out. But as it turns out, the advent of USB-C is causing a shift. For the first time in forever, it's feasible to make a third-party laptop charger, because more and more new laptops charge off the USB-C standard, rather than some random proprietary plug. Enter the FinSix Dart C, which claims the title of the world's smallest laptop charger. It will charge any laptop that draws 65W or less, a…
