NASA’s new Mars rover doesn’t look finished

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/edf3daca29820812ad7b9be6f7c4c936.jpgThis is the final design for NASA's newest Mars rover, which should be romping around the surface of our red neighbor. It's packed full of technology, with bigger wheels to get around, and better cameras to look at things. But in my highly uneducated, non-rocket-scientist opinion, it also looks like the engineers got 90% of the way there and said fuck it. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/6f292b865c77d77dbf7de2655122fec1.jpg Motion-activated lighting really comes in handy in so many places in your home. Maybe it's a dark, dank corner of your basement. Or perhaps it's a cupboard or closet that the builder just didn't wire for electricity. Thanks a lot, builder. Whatever the case, there are plenty of solutions to illuminate your closets, basements, countertops and everything else in your home — but none are as affordable and highly rated as the Albrillo Wireless Motion Sensing Light, which installs anywhere and costs just $14 on Amazon. The good news, for you, is that there are ways to cheat at it if you so desire. The good news, for everyone else, is that cheaters are going to be banned. Softly. But still banned. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/c9034b128f1325d39feb4aef82c41013.jpgMany people have a strong negative opinion about Apple’s rumored decision to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, but Apple isn’t the only company doing it. Lenovo-owned Motorola announced new Moto Z flagship devices earlier this year, and they do not feature a 3.5mm standard audio headphone jack. Yet there’s no petition urging Motorola not to do it, and the media is generally ignoring the change. Meanwhile, the Moto Z versions coming to Verizon have been made official, and Motorola unearthed a solution for the problem it’s creating. (more…) Trending right now: New leaked pho…

Yes, we have Trevor Noah in his place at The Daily Show, John Oliver tearing it up every Sunday on Last Week Tonight and Samantha Bee proving she deserves her own show with Full Frontal, but it's hard not to miss the guy that got us here in the first place. Thankfully, for at least one night, he's coming back to television. In fact, you can't even buy it on its own. I'm of course talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, the pack-in bonus that comes with every Legacy Editions and Digital Deluxe edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/08b1ef6e50691aeff2474f2cc7b9bed1.pngNetflix has added the option to make movie playlists and share them with friends. This isn't a particularly new or complicated idea, but I'm hoping that Flixtapes (because everything has to be #branded these days) can help fix Netflix's movie discovery problem. What discovery problem? Well, the fact that despite Netflix's giant library, I still find myself stuck finding new things to watch every evening. Netflix's algorithms are pretty good, but they're mostly only useful for showing you things similar to what you've seen before. (more…) Trending right now: Google’s new Nexus phones …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/e5a10a1a10569e6e2f8c6e3048af23bc.jpgGoogle is expected to launch two new Nexus devices that will offer users a better experience than any other Nexus smartphone to date. Sure, they’re supposed to be better than last year’s smartphones because they’ll feature better hardware and run a brand new operating system out of the box. But unlike previous Nexus handsets, the HTC-made Marlin and Sailfish are expected to be faster than same year Android flagships. Moreover, both devices are tipped to feature the same internal configuration, meaning that the smaller phone won’t be inferior when it comes to overall performance. A concept vide…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/734fb065cf2fc0d3643e7389c5847b47.jpgSamsung already told everyone that the Galaxy Note 7 is the next hot Note phablet and that it’ll launch it on August 2nd in a special Unpacked event in New York – of course, we knew all that from all the leaks we saw in the past few months. We also know pretty much everything there is to know about the phone’s specs and we have plenty of pictures showing its final design, including purported press renders. Some reports also even offered potential pricing details and release dates for the handset, and a new rumor claims you’ll be able to order the Galaxy Note 7 a lot sooner than you think. …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/e4bd5f1f2d8aa7ad2ab14cf4380bc18a.jpgAs someone who has written and spoke at length strong criticism of Tesla, you might think it's a bit odd that I went out and leased one. Except, even for every weakness I saw in Tesla, there were also undeniable strengths and achievements, and I wanted to experience that. Though now we are seeing something I have been saying for a while come true — Tesla is moving way too fast for a car company. This isn't an iPhone, this is a car, and I believe that some of Tesla's current and future problems are caused by a top down lack of focus and accountability. I'm not going to make this into something …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/beb75f595d1602d283d0c1851c45c9a7.jpgThere's not many things you need to use an incognito browser window for, and let's just say you probably don't want anyone to walk in while you're doing them. You could manually lock the door yourself, but that's pretty 2007. Instead, how about a door that locks itself? That's exactly what Mike, CEO of the Useless Duck Company, has made. He has fashioned an Arduino-powered door bolt that locks itself whenever you open an incognito browser window. Always nice when a computer gives you a helping hand. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 models are outselling the iPhone 6s

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/e7d4a9f549a0bb66664c6bdd98a5240e.jpgThe iPhone 6s was unveiled with a whole lot of fanfare, but as it turns out, consumers didn't flock to the device as readily as some analysts anticipated. Part of the problem is that the iPhone 6s didn't include any new features that really resonated with consumers. Sure, the iPhone 6s introduced us to 3D Touch -- an admittedly cool technology -- but that didn't excite consumers as much as Apple may have been expecting. The magnetic charger Apple should’ve built into the iPhone is just $15 on Amazon
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/034b0ed9f5e38943296fe45a1a0528dc.jpg The magnetic "MagSafe" charger on Apple's MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops is absolutely brilliant. Just wave it past the charging port and the magnets pull together and begin charging. Then if something happens and the cable gets yanked, the connector pops right off with no damage at all. There's no question that Apple should have built a similar solution for the iPhone, but instead we get an annoying proprietary Lightning connector. Well guess what: $15 is all it takes to add a nifty little magnetic charger adapter to your iPhone 6/6s or iPhone 6/6s Plus. (more…) Trending right…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/4a9ba45dc4701885acdbf07d026cdad0.jpgOver the past few weeks, Tesla's Autopilot software has been unfairly singled out and scrutinized as a piece of technology that Tesla recklessly deployed before being 100% ready for day-to-day use. This hysteria against all things Tesla reached a fever pitch this week when Consumer Reports published a self-righteous piece calling for Tesla to disable Autopilot until they get the technology figured out. And late on Thursday, we learned that even the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation directed a letter to Elon Musk asking him or a Tesla representative to answer a few q…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/4a9ba45dc4701885acdbf07d026cdad0.jpgWith eviscerating Tesla's Autopilot software becoming something of a fad lately, Elon Musk took to Twitter today and shed some light on a recent Model X crash in Pennsylvania. If you recall, a Model X driving along the Pennsylvania Turnpike rammed into a guard rail last week, an incident which then resulted in the car crossing over a few lanes before crashing into a concrete median and rolling onto its roof. Notably, early reports indicated that the Model X had its Autopilot feature turned on at the time of the crash. (more…) Trending right now: New leaked photo shows the iPhone 7 in…
