Sprint is officially selling the BlackBerry KeyOne
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies
The BlackBerry KeyOne is a very solid Android device, whether or not you care much about that physical keyboard. It offered great performance, excellent battery life, and some key BlackBerry enhancements for productivity and security. Regardless of how good a phone is, though, it’s going to struggle to gain traction in the US without carrier […] Come comment on this article: Sprint is officially selling the BlackBerry KeyOne Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

New video details how Dr. Dre discovered Eminem
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies
Whether you hated him or loved him, Eminem in the early 2000s was an artist that was simply impossible to ignore. With a seemingly endless stream of chart-topping hits -- which featured lyrics that were both clever and notoriously offensive -- Eminem quickly became a cultural icon, a feat made all the more impressive given his somewhat introverted nature. Though Eminem's recent albums haven't been as good as his previous work, there's no denying that Slim Shady for a good number of years was one of the most influential rappers on the planet. And besides, with Eminem now pushing 45, it's not exactly fair to expect him to re-capture the musical magic he had in plentiful sup…

I had no idea construction trade shows were this exciting
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

As someone who spends much of his work day trying to sift through gadget rumors and staring wide-eyed at photos taken hundreds of millions of miles away from Earth, I'm not the kind of guy who passes judgment on what anyone does for a living. That being said, I have to assume an industry trade show for something as straightforward and utilitarian as construction equipment would be a pretty dull and boring affair. But how wrong I have been. Continue reading... Trending right now: Samsung is about to release a new Galaxy S8 Did Samsung just accidentally reveal the Galaxy Note 8 early? Galaxy Note 7 FE teardown: So much deja vu
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
Samsung's really hoping that the third time is going to be the charm for the Galaxy Note 7. It's rolled out a slightly revamped version of the Note 7, called the Note 7 FE (that's fan edition, not a shortening of covfefe), in South Korea. From the outside, the Note 7 FE looks identical to the Note 7, so we're going to have to go digging inside to see where Samsung's spent all its time and money. Luckily, that's exactly what the folks at iFixit have done, and we can all go along for the ride. Continue reading... Why alligator attacks are spiking in Florida
by Guest FoxNews.com- 0 replies
There has been a recent spate of alligator attacks in southwest Florida — and the weather is partially to blame. On July 9, a 71-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital after she was attacked by a 10-foot alligator at the Shadow Wood Preserve gated community in Fort Myers. The attack came just days after another gator nearly bit the arm off a golf ball diver in a Charlotte County golf course lake. Continue reading... Scientists considering possibility of life on TRAPPIST-1 planets get some terrible news
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
The search for life beyond our Solar System is a slow, tedious process that involves identifying suitable stars, searching for planets in the habitable zone around those stars, and then hoping that the conditions on those planets are suitable for life to take root. When researchers made the announcement that they had found not one, not two, but seven new exoplanets that were all orbiting the same star called TRAPPIST-1, and that three of those planets were within the habitable zone, the astronomy community had good reason to be excited. Now, after further research, the dreams of finding life on any of the TRAPPIST-1 planets just took a major blow. Continue reading... …

Apple has been working on iPhone facial recognition for a decade
by Guest Chris Smith- 1 reply
Each new iPhone debuts at least one new signature feature which will find its way in all the iPhones that will follow it. The iPhone 8 will have a few unique, exciting features, including a full-screen design, an OLED display, a 3D face/iris recognition front camera, wireless charging, and maybe a Touch ID fingerprint sensor under the display. Many of these features are responsible for a state of “panic” at Apple, according to a recent report. As a result, the iPhone 8 may see significant delays, and some of these features may be disabled at launch if the software isn’t satisfactory. A new finding reveals that one of these innovations has been years in the making, sugg…

CenturyLink is being sued by everyone over deceptive billing
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
It's not been a good month for CenturyLink. In the last few weeks, a former sales rep turned whistleblower filed a lawsuit against the company, a video surfaced showing the company's former Chief Diversity Officer going on a homophobic rant, and a class-action lawsuit was filed over deceptive billing practices. To add serious legal insult to injury, the state of Minnesota is joining the party, and has filed a lawsuit alleging the telecoms company engaged in unfair billing practices. Continue reading... iPhone 8 won’t sell like crazy after all, new analyst report says
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies
According to most analysts we've heard from over the past few months, Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 8 is going to anchor the most significant iPhone refresh cycle we've seen to date. As the reasoning goes, current iPhone users are eager to upgrade to a device with a new design, something which the iPhone 8 -- with its edgeless OLED display -- will easily provide. This train of thought certainly seems plausible, especially given that the iPhone form factor hasn't seen a drastic overhaul since Apple released the iPhone 6 nearly three years ago. KFC is selling an actual meteorite for $20,000… and it’s the shape of a chicken sandwich
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

There are lots of rocks floating around out in space, but when they find their way to Earth they suddenly become extremely valuable as collector's items. There's a whole industry devoted to buying and selling pieces of space rock that have landed on our planet, and people pay big bucks for the most impressive specimens. KFC — yes, the fried chicken chain — is apparently interested in getting into the business of slinging space junk, and it's put a meteorite up for sale on its online store... only this one is a little, well, weird. Moon Express wants to one-up SpaceX and Blue Origin with regular moon visits
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

When it comes to commercial space travel, the biggest names in the game right now are Elon Musk's SpaceX and Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin, but a not-so-new contender is hoping to change that in short order. The company, called Moon Express, was founded as a candidate for Google's Lunar X Prize, and while that competition is still ongoing, the future of Moon Express seems to be bright regardless of whether or not it walks away with top honors. Bloomberg: Facebook will launch a $200 Oculus VR headset in 2018
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies
As exciting as the prospect of virtual reality is, the technology hasn't quite reached the mainstream for a variety of reasons. Price is chief among them, as a consumer not only needs to purchase a $400-$600 VR rig, but need a computer or a gaming console that can actually run VR games in the first place. But even if VR headsets were affordable, they're still generally bulky, unwieldy and unattractive devices. Facebook already addressed the first issue by slashing the price of the Oculus Rift and Touch bundle to $399, but according to Bloomberg, it won't be long before it addresses the second issue as well. Astronomers just discovered the smallest star ever
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

We typically think of stars as colossal balls of fusion-driven fire that absolutely dwarf everything else, but researchers just made a discovery that offers a slightly different perspective. A group of scientists from the University of Cambridge have detected a star that is so small, even one of our own planetary neighbors happens to be larger, and it's assumed to be the absolute smallest a star can possibly be. by Guest FoxNews.com- 0 replies

Amazon has been awarded some interesting patents in recent months, including a storage facility that looks like a beehive. But this latest one may top them all. The technology giant has obtained a patent, entitled "Aquatic Storage Facility," which would let it store products in "a body of liquid." The depth would be controlled by an attached cartridge and "ascend or descend within the liquid, as desired." The cartridge could then be "retrieved upon demand," the filing reads.
