http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/6d40aab39b7734852fb50f556b5c0995.jpg It's 2016 and you no longer need a $150,000 car to have a head-up display. In fact, you don't need a $100,000 car, a $75,000 car, a $50,000 car or even a $25,000 car. You can buy a used beater from a gas station on the side of the highway for $200 and have access to the same head-up information available in luxury cars. How? Meet the HUDWAY Glass, a brilliantly simple device that attaches to your dashboard and instantly transforms your smartphone into a HUD. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/c692660e7d0ed6788b70eb97ac8d689b.jpgIn case you haven't noticed, T-Mobile will go to great lengths to troll its rivals, particularly AT&T. That said, we never expected that T-Mobile CEO John Legere would ever go this far just to take a shot at a rival carrier. Per ESPN, Legere this week paid $21,800 for the rights to pick out a temporary tattoo that will be placed on track star Nick Symmonds's right shoulder. This being Legere, he immediately started musing about whether to give the tattoo an anti-AT&T message. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/657f3e68c0779dac268ff90159953661.jpgNo one can see the future but when it comes to Apple, some things are becoming surprisingly safe bets. For example, when Apple releases a new iPhone we can safely assume that it will be one of the most powerful and well-designed smartphones the world has ever seen. But on the flip side of the coin, it's becoming equally safe to assume that any new service-based products Apple introduces are going to take a bit of time to mature. That's putting it mildly, to say the least. Another way to put it would be to say that Apple's new software-based products are often a total mess at first, and it look…

HTC has been sending out emails to some of those who pre-ordered the handset early on, saying that they’ll receiving a “small token of appreciation” that will arrive in the “next couple weeks.” We’re not sure what HTC plans on sending these early adopters, but it’s likely a case or a small accessory like HTC’s new High-Res Audio Earphones. Or, maybe HTC is sending out some discounts and pro…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/f2092f3deea47e519b9ff37026334097.pngIf there's one common refrain we often hear from Android fans, it's that the experience you get with the stock version of Android is always better than whatever version of Android has been modified by manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and HTC. But is this always true? Recently Pocketnow decided to do an in-depth comparison of the Nexus 6P and the Galaxy S7 edge and it discovered that while there are advantages to using stock Android, they don't always outweigh the advantages of new features added by OEMs. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/be1957864bbed47c8a7cc545c74079f5._.…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/cccb95ba51d7c40c7cf7d8e83b9cc5cc.jpgIn the early hours of the morning while you were sound asleep, the SpaceX team was hard at work. Elon Musk's private space exploration endeavor on Friday attempted its most daring feat yet: landing its reusable Falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship at sea after launching it into space to deploy a satellite and supplies to the International Space Station. Those who were awake to watch the mission unfold were prepared for the worst — after all, we've seen Space X rockets destroyed time after time while attempting far less dangerous feats. But the stars were apparently aligned on May 6th, and the reusa…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/dafc80c304e64791c1b42c7c41df1ebc.jpgThough Apple's plan to develop and release an electric car has reportedly hit a few speed bumps over the past few months, the company seemingly has no intention of slowing down its car-oriented R&D anytime soon. According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently eyeing an 800,000 square foot property in Silicon Valley as a testing ground for autonomous driving technologies it's working on. News of Apple's interest in acquiring such a large parcel of land was sourced from Victor Coleman, the CEO of Hudson Pacific Properties Inc. For those unfamiliar, Hudson Pacific P…

Kittlaus' appearance, however, will be notable for another reason: the world will finally get a glimpse at a new and potentially revolutionary AI system that Kittlaus and his team at Viv Labs have been working over the past few years. The forthcoming AI system is called Viv and it is already touted as being more advanced than Siri or any other intelligent assistant out on the market. Whereas a service like Siri can handle …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/bb512e3434e5dcbfd1da19143bc3852e.jpgIf you don’t need the latest and greatest phone, T-Mobile is running a pretty great deal that will net you any of Samsung’s 2015 flagships with a hefty mail-in rebate. Sure, they’re about a year old at this point, but they’re still fantastic phones at pretty decent prices. The Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge+ are all included and will all get a $150 mail-in rebate after purchase. That effectively brings the price of all four phones close to that $500 mark, with the regular Galaxy S6 down closer to $400. Hard to argue with those prices. Otherwise, the deal loo…

Earlier this year a pair of devices believed to be the Galaxy Tab S3 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S3 9.7 were spotted making their way through the FCC. Now the 8-inch version has surfaced again, this time passing through China’s TENNA certification. The benefit of this is that the TENNA database includes some images of the device. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/1724bbd48e11f28a741d445fcece0560.jpgRemember that controversy not too long ago about Netflix throttling Verizon and AT&T data streams because of the carrier’s data caps? While that wasn’t a particularly great PR move for Netflix, it’s prompted the company to roll out more controls to its mobile app to allow users to adjust how much data they want to use. The update gives you a way to tweak the bitrate of your Netflix stream while on a mobile network, with the default setting allowing you to stream around 3 hours of video per gigabyte of data. Netflix found this bitrate to be the best compromise between video quality and v…
