http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/b7a0926e08cfc7f0a1bbbdfa310f3298.pngSome games require a great deal of effort to complete. Whether its their length, their difficulty or their complexity, games like Dark Souls, Spelunky and Dota 2 are best known for driving players crazy as they attempt to fight their way through increasingly lopsided battles, find every potential pitfall and learn the best matchups. But some games can't be beat simply because the developers never finished them. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/2e6aa7a8db380b006430ac3e8c075b52._.gif Via BRG - Boy Genius Report

The same was true of Rogue One, even after we saw the first trailer, but star Mads Mikkelsen might have just given one big spoiler away. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7acff5efe116f2b7563d8acd53884057.jpgLG released their first quarter financial results today and unsurprisingly, the LG Mobile Communications Company portion of the conglomerate posted disappointing numbers. LG had previously indicated the first quarter would be one of the best ever for the company and that panned out. However, smartphone sales were down causing yet another financial drag on the company as a whole. In their press release, LG blames a slowdown in shipments of their existing devices on interest in the LG G5 causing consumers to hold off on making purchases. The division had sales of KRW 2.96 trillion ($2.46 bill…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/31c44c0e5a41b05832e1e262e9076765.jpg Samsung has reported positive results for the first quarter of 2016. The company says the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge lead the way in the increase it had during the impressive period. In the first quarter, Samsung managed to increase their total operating profits to $5.84 billion, which is 12% higher than the same period from last year. Samsung’s flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge provided a big boost for the company. The increase in sales could have been due to the earlier release, avoiding the competition from rivals that came later. Samsung also saw an increase in tot…

It seems that Philips may have taken notice because it’s just published a new app to the Play Store called Philips Hue Gen 2. The second generation Hue app includes a new, dare we say, even modern UI and some added functionality. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/241e41a0badaab384624155b68cd46ba.png As you can see from the screenshots above, the UI is…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/b2da2e7cd4247c0a0ee8996806ae22b2.jpg LG has begun rolling out a new update to the G5 that brings the “Home and App Drawer” setup back to the smartphone. Leading up to the announcement of the LG G5, there were many rumors indicating that the company would ditch the App Drawer. When launch day came around, LG did get rid of it, and customers weren’t too happy. That said, LG is fixing the problem in this new update. There is a way to get the App Drawer back through LG SmartWorld without the update, but that’s from the UX 4.0 software. It’ll at least get you by until your able to download the latest update for the home sc…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/510a7fa5d55e4fe792abf5f6167ce334.jpg It looks like the Moto G4 and G4 Plus could be just over the horizon, as Motorola has begun sending out invites to media outlets in India for a May 17 press event where the two smartphones are expected to be unveiled. Previous rumors indicated that the handsets would be unveiled on June 9, but that obviously isn’t the case anymore. We don’t know many solid details, but the two handsets have been the victim of a handful of leaks. The Moto G4 was leaked not too long ago, supposedly having a fingerprint scanner and square home button in tow. That same rumor also says we’ll see a new c…

Honor is Huawei’s budget-minded sub-brand and most recently launched the reasonably priced 5X (reviewed here). Replacing the 4C, the Honor 5C offers a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 13MP rear camera, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow for 899 Yuan ($139). http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/18d63c946cb0b7782869e1f510a41564.jpg As you can see from the specifications sheet below, the Honor 5C packs a punch considering its price. by Guest FoxNews.com- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/cd427133a3961f326c5faf2f9c0adecb.jpgDARPA announced on Tuesday that it has awarded contracts to eight organizations to develop more intelligent, more agile ground vehicles that aren’t burdened by extra armor. The problem that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency said that it wants to address is that as weapons get better at piercing armor, adding armor to ground vehicles just makes them slower and more expensive to develop and deploy. The initiative comes as part of the agency’s Ground X-Vehicle Technology program, which has awarded contracts to Carnegie Mellon University as well as to companies like Honeywell, Pratt &a…

There’s no way to confirm that sighting, but alien fans will surely want to hear about an equally fascinating find. Using the same Google Earth tool, someone discovered what looks like a crash-landed UFO similar to Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon. The first trailer for Oliver Stone’s ‘Snowden’ movie looks kind of... lame

If you already know who Snowden is, then you're probably already anticipating the movie eagerly. The first trailer already makes Snowden look like the next Bourne-style action movie, though parts of the trailer make the movie look kind of, well, lame. It's too early to pass judgement, but watch it yourself and you'll see. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/ef0c10cde08baa0f86ea26a796713247._.gif …

Building your own rocket, stuffing an explosive into the bottom and then launching it hundreds of feet into the sky isn't nerdy — it's friggin awesome! And while driving remote controlled cars used to be something people laughed at, drone quadcopters have now come along and made all things RC cool again. There’s a new drone that’s actually a drone and we’re pretty sure you’ll want one
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7d36e83a9abccfdbb6c3020b9e0e13a0.jpgIt really shouldn't be this refreshing to see a company unveil a drone that's actually a drone, but alas. The term "drone" has been broadened to include a wide range of popular quadcopters that don't have any autonomous capabilities at all, but there are still some companies building real drones for consumer use. Back in February we told you about an awesome drone that can follow you and record your every move with its built-in camera, though it's a bit pricey for some. If you don't want to part with that kind of cash you'll be happy to learn that a new drone called the Hover Camera will soon …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/2a26bf8f579f6b0645f0a4474c055192.jpgFor years, it was widely assumed that the cable industry was in the midst of a transition. Blindsided by streaming services from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu, it was effectively taken as fact that cable companies were withering as more and more subscribers were opting to cut the cord. Bolstering this narrative was ostensibly cold hard data. For instance, The Wall Street Journal last year relayed a study which claimed that the number of households with cable "will fall at an accelerating rate for at least the next four years..." All the panic surrounding Apple’s declining iPhone sales is way overblown

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/9d8ef815b002c7125447b393ab3e6c27.jpgFor the first time in company history, Apple recently posted a year-over-year drop in iPhone sales. During the March 2016 quarter, Apple sold 51.1 million iPhones compared to 61.2 million iPhones sold during the same quarter a year-ago. And seeing as how the iPhone is Apple's primary revenue driver, Apple's earnings also took a hit, with the company posting EPS of $1.90, down from $2.33 during the year-ago quarter. Not surprisingly, shares of Apple opened up 8% lower when trading began earlier this morning. And while shares have since climbed back up from a low of $95.98 to about $98, the stoc…

Samsung might be using Vulkan for a power saving TouchWiz launcher
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/a91c714120236c270e05301accb0bbb1.jpgVulkan is going to be a very big deal for mobile phones, but it’s going to do more than just improve the gaming experience on your smartphone. While most of the original buzz surrounding the efficient API was centered around lowering CPU overhead so 3D applications could run better and consume less energy, it looks like we’ll start to see that leveraged in simpler applications, too. During SDC 2016, Samsung engineers discussed how they can use Vulkan to improve performance and battery life for their TouchWiz launcher, which should certainly catch the attention of stock Android enthusiasts. …

HTC’s Nexus devices this year are going by M1 and S1, likely Marlin and Sailfish

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/0d325ea65b4fca79892a821434133254.jpgIt’s about that time of year for Nexus rumors to pick up, and we’re all still not-so-secretly hoping that HTC will take over this year. A new leak from Evan Blass seems to confirm this, as he’s leaked that there are two devices being developed for Android N that are both HTC manufactured. There are two devices mentioned, one being the M1 and the other being the S1. These models would fit in with Google’s fishy names for Nexus phones, and there was already a mention of Marlin in an AOSP commit earlier this year. Sailfish is speculation, but it does make sense. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/430c8f2f90bddc0d02d41f86eb682ebf.png Earlier today, Google’s Nexus 9 was silently pulled from the Google Store. The tablet was on the market for just shy of eighteen months. The Nexus 9 debuted in October 2014 alongside the Nexus 6, two devices which have been viewed by many as very underwhelming members of the Nexus line. Google’s flagship tablet appeared to be solid on paper at launch, but the Nexus 9 actually shipped with a list of problems. Performance lagged and stuttered for nearly a year, maintaining a cool temperature was tough, and build quality was eh. Really nothing about the tablet was impressive outside of t…
