http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/788adfbb6dc2b15dbcb0bc717c4a3c8c.jpgWe know Apple fans are fanatically loyal to the company, but would you believe they love Apple enough to just give it $40 million worth of gold? Well, they did... even though that wasn't their intention. 9to5Mac points out that Apple's latest Environmental Responsibility Report (PDF) shows that it recovered 89 million pounds of materials in its recycling program last year, including $40 million worth of gold. In other words, Apple's recycling program is not only a good thing for the environment, but a good thing for Apple as well. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/23e16e942…

Even the old iPhone 6 is better than the HTC 10 or Galaxy S7 if you want true gaming power

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/f83b044df25ecaf2d833f5dd7362f734.jpgPraised in reviews, the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 are the top Android handsets you can buy this year. But if you’re a mobile gaming addict, then these devices aren’t the smartphones you are looking for. Instead, you should be picking up an iPhone 6s, iPhone SE or even the much older iPhone 6. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/a2c37f24d692c3ea06fa6cdd17869fd9.jpgWhile iPhone sales have steadily increased each year since 2007, it's widely believed that 2016 will mark the first time that year-over-year sales of Apple's iconic smartphone will experience a decline. Hardly a point of idle speculation, even Tim Cook during an earnings conference call earlier this year alluded to this fact. "We do think iPhone units will decline in the quarter,” Cook said this past January. “We don’t think that they will decline to the levels you’ll talk about. We aren’t going to project beyond the upcoming quarter.” (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7b4…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/5c6e9a09efd01ad6f69387677172d910.jpg The second Android N Developer Preview has been out for just a few days, and people keep noticing changes. We’ve already discovered new features like an extra quick toggle, new folders, shortcuts, and emoticons. With some further investigation, Phandroid was able to get an iPhone-like 3D touch feature working, that could let app developers set homescreen shortcuts for their apps. The feature was uncovered when using a third-party launcher. Just like on Apple’s latest iPhone 6s models, Android N may sport a similar technology displaying quick actions on your device’s homescreen. The vi…

A few weeks back, we heard a rumor that the Galaxy Note 6 will release in July ahead of when it normally does, which is usually at the IFA trade show. Today, the model numbers for Galaxy Note 6 variants were spotted online. ‘Grace,’ appears to be the initial codename for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 6. A European model is listed towards the bottom and a version for the U.S. is also listed. It’s still way too early so we don’t know if these will run different processors and offer di…

You can already get an unlimited data plan from AT&T right now, but only if you're a DirecTV subscriber. Barring that, your next best option is to switch to Cricket Wireless, an AT&T prepaid subsidiary that's now offering unlimited talk, text and data for just $70 a month. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/9d64b480827b01c55251f3a2a4b3aa43.jpgWe’re still waiting for Lenovo/Motorola to announce something new for 2016, but so far all we’ve gotten are leaks that aren’t telling anyone enough. The latest leak sticks to that, showing nothing but a name and a weird home button. Courtesy of Evan Blass, we might be seeing a Lenovo-branded Moto G4 Plus soon. It might also have a square home button on its bottom bezel, which also means it won’t have a front firing speaker there. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/fd85ded9af5c71292bc26fd7ccde8d66.jpgYour guess is as good as mine as to what that actually is. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/1fc68d7e5bbd2a02c604e7c5afb4a49d.jpg 360-degree video and images are going to be a big selling point for tons of devices going forward, but manufacturers need a way to utilize and show them off to make that happen. LG has a unique idea for that, and they’re bringing it to the G5 first. You’ll soon be able to download 360-degree images and set them as your wallpaper on the G5, giving you a taste of the widest panoramic shots you’ve ever seen. The wallpapers are reminiscent of the old live wallpapers that were hot when Android was first released, although hopefully these are less of a battery drain. When you physicall…

That retailer is Cel.ro, a Romanian-based website. The website shows the Huawei P9 Lite as available in Gold, Black, and White color variants, all sitting at around USD$300. We’re not sure if you can actually go through the payment process on the website, or if they’ll actually even ship it to you right away, as it’s entirely possible this is just an “early” pre-order. Then again, Cel.ro lists the Huawei P9 Lite as in stock. http://androidforum.us/data/Me…

Instagram attributes the change to the fact that more people than ever are uploading videos and claims the channels will make it easier to find videos you enjoy. You’ll now see a channel called “Videos You Might Like,” which aggregates videos from across the Instagram world. And as you make your way through the Explore grid, you’ll see featured videos on various topics. Instagram says the Explore feature still works as it always has. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/6117c1f99dc3aadb88e042bf02906c3c.jpg Huawei at a press event today announced the Huawei VR, a direct challenger to Samsung’s Gear VR headset. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/3ee552b3ae44954dadae7de275f8a700.jpg So, this begs the question, is the Huawei VR any different than the Gear VR? Unfortunately, no. It’s able to display 360-degree movies and games as you move your head around the room, just like the Gear VR. And the interesting thing is that the Huawei VR almost looks identical to the Gear VR, making it difficult to tell the two apart. To make it even more difficult to find differences, Huawei has…

You have to protect your phone from drops and dings, obviously, but you also don't want to hide that gorgeous design. As it turns out though, not all clear cases are created equal. In fact, some clear cases have capabilities that seem sort of... magic. Take Just Mobile's TENC Self-Healing Ultra-Slim Transparent Cases for the iPhone 6/6s and iPhone 6/6s Plus. On the surface they look just like any other clear case, but they're hiding a pretty incredible secret: They…
