http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/48fb53140925be71ea9f35db02fcd818.jpgLots of people probably wish they could just sit around and do nothing but watch TV. But what if that binge watching came at the expense of other important tasks such as, say, sleep? Tech Insider reports that's what Alejandro "AJ" Fragoso and two of his friends recently did as they tried to break the world record for binge watching TV by doing so for 94 straight hours. Put simply, your brain and body are not designed to stay awake for that long, no matter how much you love the shows you're watching. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/ae664c24f4eb24b13bfbf9ed49ab03dd.jpgIf you order a new iPhone today, it might already reach your home by tomorrow. It takes even less time to activate it and use it after you take it out of the box. But that iPhone traveled some 500,000 miles before reaching your doorstep and becoming the most important computer in your life. No, your delivery company did not mess up your order. But a new report explains why and how an iPhone “travels” that much before becoming operational. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/159b4eb3be6656f4eba6fb1afb75fe1d.png It’s just a couple of days ago that the HTC 10 launched to a positive reception, boasting a 5.2-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, and a stunning metal unibody. While there appears to be some confusion as to whether India will receive a full-power HTC 10, or the lesser-specced HTC 10 Lifestyle, the Taiwanese handset maker has chosen to take the wraps off its updated Desire 828 handset. You may remember that HTC launched the original Desire 828 with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 13MP front shooter, and dual BoomSound speakers in India back in December…

And let’s not forget about its budget friendly sub-brand, Honor, that launched the 5X to great acclaim earlier in the year. It seems that there may be another device being launched in the coming weeks, with the Honor 5C going through the certification process in China (TENAA). http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/2df5ba0763022d920f3c16f4918304af.jpgAccording to TENAA (China’s version of …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/1fc68d7e5bbd2a02c604e7c5afb4a49d.jpg Missing from LG UX 5.0 on the LG G5 is an app drawer. Mhm, you read that right. The 2016 flagship from LG doesn’t come with something that Android has included since its inception, meaning the G5 has a home screen setup similar to that of Apple’s iPhone. Fortunately for the people who want it on the G5, LG is allowing the app drawer to be reactivated. It’s just going to take a bunch of small steps because a special launcher from LG’s own app store is required. Hit the break for instructions. Need to see the process in action? by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/c43fee26e8af4d0b21601039fd25bb08.jpgLogitech has just announced a pretty big purchase: Jaybird, the wireless audio manufacturer. It’s a little surprising considering Logitech mostly handles computer peripherals, but with the trend of headphones moving towards wireless devices, it’s an acquisition that makes sense. The deal is worth $50 million in cash with an addition $45 million in potential payouts over the next two years. This puts the Ultimate Ears and Jaybird brands in Logitech’s portfolio, and the two companies hope to mix their expertise in wireless audio and wireless design to create some great products over the comin…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/360404cc61b452b43babcf2c1530be8d.jpg Samsung is pushing out a pretty large update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and it seems to include a neat feature called Display Scaling. What is Display Scaling? It basically lets you choose a more condensed DPI setting so that more content can fit on the screen. This feature is supposedly built into Android N, but it seems like Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners will get to take it for a spin a bit early. The update includes a lot of other additions that we outlined just the other day, but as a quick overview, you’ll get the latest Android security patch, some performance improves, an…

YouTube’s new interface overlay is a bit hard to notice, but is there. When watching a video, YouTube now displays the title of that particular video along with its current number of views in the upper left-hand corner. The channel that uploaded the video is also now displayed there. Don’t worry though, the overlay will fade away five seconds and only shows when you tap the screen when the video is ongoing. This includes when the video is paused. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7abb6aaaa…

A kill list target named Malik Jalal believes that he's been wrongfully placed in the government's crosshairs and he's written a piece for The Independent describing what it's like to have predator drones hunting you and potentially firing missiles at you when you least expect it. Spoiler alert: It's not a lot of fun. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/1e57d31a6c51890f5409acb5bbf22917._.gif Via BRG - Boy Genius Report

Flescher, a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor, hosted the Reddit AMA session in early April with the help of his grandson, who insisted that he share his Holocaust survival story with the world. New USB Type-C spec should keep a faulty cable from destroying your device
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/8cb9b9701a90a0bf00b2510c196fe392.jpgUSB Type-C is great! It’s reversible, charges quickly, and it’s fast on data transfers. It’s quickly becoming the standard for tons of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops, which we’ve already seen on Nexus devices, the HTC 10, LG G5, and several other phones. But on the other side of things, bad USB Type-C cables can also destroy your device. It’s a problem for USB C cables, but it’s something that the USB Implementers Forum wants to address. They’re responsible for certifying devices that are standards compliant, and they’ve announced a new protocol that should keep a faul…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/e3ef89b05c4b033ea7a6b3915824b5ff.png You may have read something about the HTC 10 being announced yesterday, but the Taiwanese handset maker also launched another, albeit very similar handset as well, called the HTC 10 Lifestyle. It’s aimed at the Indian market, and while it shares many of the same components as the HTC 10 that is available in the west, the HTC 10 Lifestyle differs in some important areas. The HTC 10 Lifestyle carries the same chamfered metal body, the very same 12MP UltraPixel rear camera, and exactly the same 5.2-inch Quad HD display. Where it differs from the standard HTC 10 is that instead of using a S…
