Depending on how accurate and legitimate the listing was, HTC may not have much to reveal in terms of design when they launch the HTC 10 on April 12th during an online event. The Taobao site has taken down the bulk of the listing for now, notably the images, but in true Internet fashion they were already captured and are spreading so you can check them out below. One of the new “features” that HTC has highlighted i…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/65356d6e4a6865051df3d31ba1650a8d.png Sony’s senior VP of Computer Entertainment, Masayasu Ito, revealed in an interview that the PlayStation VR could eventually makes its way to PC and maybe even other platforms. The interview was with Japanese website Nikkei, but PC Gamer has the translation: “Since PlayStation 4 shares a lot of its components with PCs, the possibility is there. At the moment we are focused on games and we are not ready to make any announcements at this stage, but I’d say there will be an expansion into various fields.” Ito’s comment on “various fields” is interesting, indicating that we coul…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/a51220dcfd91ee9b0a65d2125496be16.jpg There’s been plenty of rumors circulating that we might see a Galaxy S7 Active, something we even recently talked about on the Talk Android Podcast. And now, a report coming from SamMobile proves that the Galaxy S7 Active is real and could be coming soon. According to SamMobile, the latest version of the Samsung Level app shows the Galaxy S7 Active in the changelog, which is a strange thing considering that it’s not even been released yet. However, this does confirm that Samsung is no doubt internally testing a rugged variant of the Galaxy S7. As you might expect, the S7 Active wil…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/6a8e77285985c6d24804340c2180fdcf.jpg LG posted a video to YouTube over the weekend, demonstrating all that the G5’s new UX 5.0 software can do. In the video, LG is covering just about everything its new Android skin can do. One of the first things LG is showing off is the Friends Manager, which is an easy way to hook up things like the new LG 360 Cam to your new LG G5. Another aspect the company is showing off is how improved the built-in camera is. For instance, to take a selfie, you don’t need to press any shutter buttons or use voice commands. With LG’s auto-shot, it knows exactly when your posing for the shot and …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/9d8ef815b002c7125447b393ab3e6c27.jpgThough Apple typically saves major iOS upgrades for September, the company shook things up last week with the release of iOS 9.3. Typically, mid-year iOS updates are rather boring affairs that tend to focus on minor security enhancements and even more minor bug fixes. iOS 9.3, however, delivers a number of compelling features, including Night Shift and the ability to secure Notes behind Touch ID. Ahead of the iOS 9.3 roll out, Apple released to developers seven betas of the relatively major software update. Nonetheless, Apple didn't seem to catch a major bug that recently began affecting many …

Social media, including Facebook, can be a powerful online tool in such cases, helping spread awareness but also allowing people to see whether friends and family are out of harm’s way. However, Facebook’s Safety Check feature that was deployed after the mid-November Paris attacks malfunctioned on Sunday, after the explosion that shook Pakistan. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/49845e316ee55f757011cf30102c85ba.jpgThe season 5 finale of Game of Thrones left us with a whole host of questions, but thankfully we won't have to wait too much longer for answers. Season 6 of Game of Thrones, arguably the most anticipated TV premiere of the year, is set to air on Sunday, April 24. Over the weekend, HBO released a new trailer for the upcoming season. The clip begins with Tyrion Lannister ominously asking, "Are you afraid? You should be. You’re in the great game now. And the great game is terrifying." While the trailer does recycle some footage we've seen already, there's definitely some new shots to enjoy as wel…

Number of dangerous drone sightings on the rise, FAA says
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/4eac8ef945614b55b99f1fb0dc807ce6.jpgFlying drones, once an activity that was solely within the purview of serious hobbyists, is now more accessible and affordable than ever. While you'll still have to shell out some serious cash for a premium drone, you can just as well get a moderately priced and capable drone from Best Buy or even Toys"R"Us for less than $200. With drones becoming more commonplace, the risk of an errant drone causing serious damage or prompting a serious accident in the sky has become a legitimate and growing concern. Consequently, the FAA this past December instituted a rule requiring all individuals who own …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/d89ef393319469f2bff1d2c0af967de9.jpgThere was a time not too long ago when "Don't drink and drive" was about the only cautionary advice drivers on the road had to keep in mind. But in 2016, in a world where we're all addicted if not practically glued to our phones, "Don't text and drive" is just as important of a warning. In fact, one could argue that "Don't text and drive" is a more important message to get out there, if only because many people wrongly assume that they're nimble enough to respond to a text while successfully keeping their eyes on the road. But, while the Moto 360 (2015) is better than its predecessor, this smartwatch still has things preventing it from becoming a real winner. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/9ec2c35dff9a5b98cacab4c3f256a457.jpg Almost everyone in the business of producing mobile devices is investing in wearables. Oppo reportedly sold 180,000 R9 and R9 Plus units the first day sales opened in China. This was far more than Oppo anticipated to sell, making their debut a big success. This sales figure includes both online and in-store sales. Oppo’s ramped up marketing may have contributed largely to the big sales figure. The desirable specs and beautiful design all for a super budget-friendly price also make it worth picking up. This is quite impressive out o…

Recently, the HTD YouTube channel thought it'd be a good idea to line up 6,000 matches in close proximity, light a lone match, and then record what happens next. Suffice it to say, the end result is rather mesmerizing. All told, the entire arrangement of matches takes about 30 seconds before the entire match-holding contraption is engulfed in flames. After about 14 minutes, the fire dies out on its own. (more…)http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/c26c8a01bce21d3b617dd830d…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/017d6e83a0bdca9dd53866a78cf986fc.jpgOne might reasonably and understandably assume that all passports are created equal, which is to say that a passport from most any country will provide a consistent level of travel access across all corners of the globe. The laws governing international travel, however, are much more nuanced than you might otherwise assume. In truth, the country associated with a given passport can have a significant impact on the degree of travel freedom a passport holder can enjoy. The following list, which was originally compiled by Arton Capital, highlights which countries offer travelers the most expansiv…

Like most good things in our depraved modern age, these simple pleasures had to be "fixed" even though they were never broken in the slightest. That's why we're now seeing two new ballpark treats that honestly could kill by the time of the 7th-inning stretch: The Burgerizza and the Cracker Jack and Mac Dog. Indeed, Netflix a few days ago admitted that it has been throttling videos for AT&T and Verizon customers. As Netflix recently conceded, the company has been lowering the video quality of streamed videos on the aforementioned carriers in an effort to keep users from going over their monthly data allotment. As Netflix puts it, the throttling is to "protect consumers from exceeding mobile data caps." Of course, the other benefit is that it keeps s…

Whether it's making a stone axe from scratch, making charcoal, or building an impressively constructed hut using solely naturally occurring materials and primitive tools, the videos are truly mesmerizing. While we couldn't track down the name of the man behind the enthralling video series, we do k…
