T-Mobile will quietly hike prices to Verizon levels
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
According to a post on Reddit and T-Mobile retail employees who talked to BGR, T-Mobile is planning on increasing the price of the One Plus add-on this week. One Plus currently costs $5 a month, and T-Mobile's planning on bumping that up to $10. The add-on buys T-Mobile customers a bunch of features that are already standard on Verizon's base unlimited plan, including 10GB of tethering hotspot data, HD video streaming, better international roaming speeds, and free Wi-Fi on planes. The fastest stars in our galaxy are invaders
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
We're pretty familiar with our own Solar System, but the galaxy that we reside in is absolutely enormous. The Milky Way is thought to have somewhere between 100 billion and 400 billion stars, depending on which estimate you favor, and some of the most interesting ones are moving so fast that they stand out in a big way. But now, new research suggests that these incredibly fast-moving stars aren't actually from the Milky Way at all, but are actually invaders from a completely different system. Continue reading... And though the iPhone 7 has sold impressively well, even surprisingly so, it's been a while since we've seen a brand new iPhone model truly push the needle. Continue reading... A distant galaxy is starving to death, and astronomers are loving it
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
As NASA and other space agencies from around the world set their sights on exoplanets and destinations within our Solar System that could host life, some astronomers are enjoying a very different sight: a galaxy slowly being starved to death. The Little Cub galaxy is dying, and scientists are excited about the opportunity to watch the system gradually succumb to the ravages of its nearest neighbor as it is stripped of the resources needed to grow. The Switch won’t be getting the biggest ‘Call of Duty’ game in years
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

The latest Call of Duty installment brings back the action to World War II. And for a while, it was believed that WWII would hit a bunch of platforms, including Nintendo’s Switch. However, if you were excited about playing the shooter on Nintendo’s hit console, you better temper that enthusiasm. Sledgehammer Games offered a definitive “No” when asked whether the title is going to be available on the Switch. Continue reading... Scared of dinosaurs? This colossal prehistoric crocodile was even more frightening
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
Movies like Jurassic Park paint the Tyrannosaurus Rex as a ferocious hunter capable to crushing bones (and Jeep Grand Cherokees), but more recent research suggests the king of the lizards was largely a scavenger. Now, new research into an ancient species of crocodile paints a picture of a creature that not only boasted teeth as large as a T-Rex, but had an attitude to match its intimidating appearance. It's called the Razanadrongobe sakalavae, or "Razana" for short, and it's not something you'd have wanted to encounter on the muddy shore of a Jurassic watering hole. Continue reading... This sleek smartwatch is smart enough to look nothing like a smartwatch
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies
I have an Apple Watch and I love it. But, if I’m being totally honest, I don’t really like the look of it. It’s definitely more attractive than any Android smartwatch I’ve seen out there, but it’s still clunky and dated. If you’ve been searching for a smartwatch that’s much more of a "watch" than it is "smart," you’ve got to check out the Nevo Smartwatch for Android/iOS. This gorgeous, minimalistic device is a real watch with an actual Swiss movement, but it also has smart features that include activity tracking, sleep tracking, and notification support for both Android and iOS devices. Some people with old Android phones have reported some connectivity issues, but as lon…

NASA has a plan for preventing asteroid strikes, and it’s going to test it
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

The threat of an asteroid striking Earth is pretty scary — and not just in all the ways Hollywood movies have depicted — but human technology has reached a point where it might actually be possible for us to prevent an asteroid impact if we see one headed our way. NASA has a concept for a tool that could do the trick. It's called the DART (short for Double Asteroid Redirection Test), and the agency is finally moving forward with its plan to design and hopefully build the hardware that it needs to save humanity's bacon. Verizon is charging extra for anti-spam features everyone else gives away for free
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

It's not just you: spam calls to your cellphone are on the rise. The number of complaints to the FCC about unwanted calls has nearly tripled since 2010, to the point that around 2.4 billion robocalls are placed every month. The FCC is working on a framework to help curb the problem, but for now, phone providers are on the front line of the fight-back. AT&T and T-Mobile have already rolled out a feature to users that helps identify incoming spam calls, and now Verizon is following suit. Continue reading... One of the Wii U’s best exclusives might come to the Nintendo Switch
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

Despite the impressive showing from Nintendo at E3 2017, some fans were disappointed that there weren't any other Wii U ports unveiled for the Switch at the event. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a big success in April, which led some gamers to suspect that a port of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U would be a surprise announcement at the show in Los Angeles. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. Although Smash Bros. would undoubtedly be a home run, a tweet from Platinum this weekend gave fans hope that a port of another popular Wii U exclusive might already be in development for the Switch. MacOS rip-off feature delayed from next version of Windows
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
During Microsoft's developer conference earlier this year, the company announced a raft of new features coming to Windows 10 in the "Fall Creators Update." One of the few legitimately useful features was slated to be Timeline, a way to easily swap between Windows PCs, iOS, and Android devices without leaving your work behind. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's rather similar to "Continuity," a feature Apple introduced years ago to help switching between iOS and macOS. It's no bad mark that Microsoft is copying Apple here -- plenty of Windows features have shown up in macOS -- but it is rather awkward that Microsoft's rip-off is going to be delayed by months. …
