Former Apple engineer Chris Lattner leaves Tesla just six months after starting
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies
Tesla has always been rather aggressive about poaching talented engineers from Apple. This past January, though, Tesla kicked things up a notch when it hired Chris Lattner to head up the company's Autopilot Software division. Though not a household name, Lattner was a senior Apple engineer who helped spearhead the development of Swift in addition to overseeing Apple's Xcode team. Lattner's departure at the time was viewed as a significant loss for Apple and a huge boon for Tesla. Continue reading... An asteroid is definitely going to hit the Earth, expert warns
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
Space is a dangerous place to be, and since the Earth is in space, every living thing on the planet is at risk of eventually feeling its wrath. Asteroids are the most clear and present threat that our Solar System poses to us, and you only need to look at the scars on the Earth, our moon, and other planets in our neighborhood to see exactly how real that danger is. Now, a Queen's University Belfast researcher is warning that the Earth is definitely going to be hit, it's just a matter of when. Continue reading... This video of a dog chase through traffic is all the excitement you need today
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
I dropped my puppy's leash walking along a crowded sidewalk once, and in the two seconds it took to dive-catch my pup, I thought my world was ending. So I have absolutely no idea what was going through this person's mind while their dog took them on a crazy chase through Mexico City's traffic. But I can't imagine it was very polite. No differences exist between the displays on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies
OnePlus isn’t lying when it says “specifications don’t matter.” The display is one of the most important areas for a phone, but OnePlus didn’t bother making any improvements from last year. Rolan Quandt, a mobile industry insider who has a proven track record, revealed that the OnePlus 5 announced this week and the OnePlus 3T […] Come comment on this article: No differences exist between the displays on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

Report: T-Mobile and Sprint are finalizing plans for a merger
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
T-Mobile and Sprint have been flirting with the notion of a merger like a pair of coy teenagers at a high-school dance, but we're seeing signs that something is finally going to happen. It's a logical move for both companies: the networks would get bigger, and they wouldn't need to have Twitter fights with each other anymore. It would also be terrible for anyone why buys a wireless plan in the US, but that's not stopping progress. A new report from a German newspaper says that Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile's owner, is preparing documents for a merger with Sprint. Continue reading... by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

The controversy surrounding the iPhone 8's fingerprint sensor simply refuses to die down. Just when we thought that Apple had figured out a way to embed its Touch ID sensor under the display itself, Cowen & Co analyst Timothy Arcuri writes that significant technical challenges remain and that Apple is actively trying to come up with a workable solution. Video and photos show iPhone 8 model next to iPhone 7 Plus
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

Earlier this week, we saw an extensive hands-on video with a purported iPhone 8 dummy unit. It may have not been a fully functional device, but it certainly ticked off all the boxes regarding our expectations for Apple’s 2017 flagship iPhone. Today, we have one more video showing what appears to be the same type of iPhone 8 model, which features the exact same design and can be seen next to an iPhone 7 Plus for comparison. by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

This week’s list of every Nintendo Switch game available for purchase and for pre-order is a bittersweet one, fellow gamers. Why? Because this week ARMS moves from the pre-order list to the "available for purchase" list. It’s an awesome game so you might be wondering why that would possibly be a bad thing. The answer is simple: Prime subscribers can no longer save 20% by pre-ordering it. Don’t worry though, because there are plenty of other pre-orders you still have time to save on. Below you’ll find every single Switch game other than eShop exclusives. ARMS 1-2-Switch The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Fast RMX Has Been Heroes I Am Setsuna Just Dance 2017 The Le…

Qualcomm fires back, says Apple charges more for wall plugs than it pays in royalties
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Apple's battle with Qualcomm is showing no signs of calming down. The companies have been frozen in a legal staring contest since January, when Apple slapped its foe with a massive $1 billion lawsuit over what it claims are unfair patent royalties. Now, after Apple's recent shot against Qualcomm in which it alleged that the company's business practices are illegal, Qualcomm is going on the offensive with a statement of its own, and it's a doozy. OnePlus mocked Apple’s iPhone design after blatantly copying it on the OnePlus 5
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The OnePlus 5 is finally official, as is the fact that the phone looks like a high-end iPhone clone made in China. There’s no denying that OnePlus looked at the iPhone for inspiration when it comes to the OnePlus 5’s design, but also for smaller things like the user interface for the camera app. Even so, OnePlus mocked the iPhone design during its official presentation. NASA just found 10 new Earth-like planets
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

NASA's Kepler space telescope has been floating in space since early 2009, and it's already outlived its planned mission window by a handful of years, but that's not stopping it from continuing to find some seriously awesome objects outside of our Solar System. The team that runs the powerful stargazer just released a new rundown of over 200 brand new planets that the telescope has managed to detect, and ten of them are very, very exciting for anyone hoping to one day hear about the discovery of life outside of Earth. You can neither run nor hide from drones with x-ray vision
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

Scientific researchers (and hopefully not wannabe arms dealers) at the University of California have worked out how to use a pair of drones and Wi-Fi to create an instant 3-D map of a building, contents and all. This is good for emergency workers and architects, and probably terrible for humanity when the machines rise up to kill us all. Continue reading...
