http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/51853c976d86b3aa214c5ebc3ef7fc57.jpg John Legere is not happy that the Federal Trade Commission handed T-Mobile a complaint regarding customers being wrongly charged on their bills. The charge in question has to do with some sort of premium text messages. Legere, the leading man at T-Mobile, has stepped forward to defend his company. Legere goes all the way back to last year in saying that T-Mobile no longer charges customers for those kind of messages and refunds customers when they are impacted by services they do not use. The T-Mobile CEO then took to Twitter to send a message. The FTC offered a settlement from the FTC …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/e00c2005d3d840de5f78b29afb3436d0.jpg The announcement of Amazon's Fire Phone was met with a mixed reaction. Many of the innovative features of the device were intriguing, but we questioned whether Amazon was innovating in the right areas. GeekWire has been keeping track of the Fire Phone's rankings on the Amazon Best Sellers list, and it appears that consumers are also questioning the viability of Amazon's new hardware. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/97d71e3f33116ddfd004fb5f07fb1a74.jpg In terms of monthly shipments, Android devices surpassed Apple's iOS lineup long ago. Apple executives and Apple bloggers repeatedly point to a different stat, however, that paints an interesting picture: Despite Android's huge lead in terms of shipments, iOS remains the global leader in usage as measured by companies that monitor web traffic. Unless the current trend is reversed in the next month or two, however, there will soon be a changing of the guard. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/809bd770f390230c48ce551602ee0326.jpeg In recent years, Microsoft has consistently been late to the game when it comes to mobile devices. It's reentry in the smartphone market following the iPhone's debut in 2007 was painfully late, and its tablet efforts with Windows RT have been both late and lackluster. According to a recent report, however, Microsoft has no plans to be late again when it comes to the smartwatch market. Now it looks like Apple has started taking some more aggressive steps to make sure Siri keeps up with its other voice-enabled assistant rivals, as Wired reports that the company has been going on a big hiring spree aimed at improving Siri's overall intelligence and reactivity. T-Mobile slapped with FTC complaint due to ‘bogus charges’
by Guest Brendan Lynch- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/06b308e67cadcbfffd34a396a0b4e682.jpg T-Mobile was supposed to be the ‘chosen one’ in terms of US carriers by saving consumers from the questionable charges handed down by Verizon and AT&T. Now, the Uncarrier is being charged by the Federal Trade Commission due to ‘bogus charges’ that have been appearing on some users’ bills. The complaints seem to be based around a $9.99 premium messaging fee that has been charged to some customers’ bill each month. You’ll likely recognize this type of messaging as the flirting tips or couple matchup scams that you see advertised. Charging those who are compelled to check out thes…

The updates add support for Android L, a refreshed user interface, and more. These updates essentially represent the merging of QuickOffice and Google Docs. Unfortunately, it united everything but Google Voice. Now, a photo and a video has leaked showing that this feature is indeed coming to Android devices. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7580567c41d817c0c7b4635ad368185c.jpg Perhaps the biggest slap in the face was that iOS users got the ability to make Google Voice VoIP calls within Hangouts late last year. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/4d1b929a23c6ce1d50372a66f0ce34f0.png Last year for the fifth anniversary of the Chrome browser, Google announced a “new breed of apps” known as Chrome apps. The new apps function much like a traditional program when launched on a computer, appearing in its own window and capable of being used when offline amongst other features. When launched, Google’s intent was for these Chrome apps to be the next generation of apps replacing the “packaged apps” that they first introduced in 2010. Google has now announced their end of life plans for “packaged apps” including an immediate halt to the ability for developers to submit them to…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/8c9d8e9146fe94abd23e4eaed3783be6.jpg T-Mobile CEO John Legere has been utterly merciless when it comes to trolling his bigger rivals at Verizon and AT&T and now they're going to have a chance to return the favor. Legere, who recently controversially accused AT&T and Verizon of "raping you for every penny you have," now finds that his own company is being accused of swindling customers out of hundreds of millions of dollars. by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/56751e2a443a1e28cbf5da34eb650a75.jpg Samsung is clearly the king of phablets. It wasn't the first smartphone vendor to launch a handset with a larger than normal display, but there is no question that the South Korean giant is single-handedly responsible for popularizing the category. Over the past year or so, however, Samsung has begun to get out-phableted by devices like the HTC One max and Nokia Lumia 1520, which are even more gigantic than Samsung's Galaxy Note line. Not one to be outdone, Samsung introduced its Galaxy Mega phablet line — and it looks like the company will soon launch a new and improved version of its previ…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/fcaf5af0ee7df1e86361897be9a8b28a.jpg The latest Kantar Worldpanel numbers for smartphone market share may not be surprising, but they are grim indeed for Microsoft. In the heart of the Windows empire in the United States, Windows Phone's market share dropped from 4.7% to 3.6% between May 2013 and May 2014. In Germany, the decline was from 6.2% to 5.9%. In Brazil, the share remained flat at 5.5%. In China, Windows Phone saw a collapse from 3% to o.6%. LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live get the teardown treatment
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7d920db54d818e2e5f2b6fe9d2cca8ca.jpg It’s a tradition to teardown every new device, and smartwatches are no exception. Last week, the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live were introduced as the first Android Wear watches, and AnAndTech has opened up both devices. Both watches are held together by screws, but the Gear Live is a little more difficult to take apart. Both watches reveal the Qualcomm 400, which is a quad-core processor, but it’s likely that only one core is in use. This is based on benchmark tests conducted by Arstechnica. This seems likely since a quad-core does seem like overkill for such devices. http…

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/b2467cae989036f73727bdecf8617912.jpg Production of Apple's next-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone phablet handsets is expected to go into full swing this month and as a result, we can expect leaks to really kick into high gear. Earlier this week, we saw the curved glass display covers from Apple's upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6 leak for the first time after reports that the glass would be slightly curved at the edges first emerged last year. We also learned that the most awful design element from the various iPhone 6 mockups we have seen so far is actually the result of a misunderstanding, and the real units will look much better. …

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/7b37fac99a69a037cacfd99edb54d5bb.jpg The United States National Security Agency has had a rough year. It all began when former NSA contractor Edward Snowden infiltrated the agency's systems and stole thousands upon thousands of confidential documents revealing many of the top-secret cyber surveillance programs the NSA has employed in recent years. The revelations began with PRISM but there have now been so many that it may be a good time for a quick recap.
