Spotify notifies everyone that one user’s account was breached
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies
Music streaming service Spotify has 10 million paid users, but only one of them has a reason to be a little unhappy today. The company sent out a notice that alerts everyone there has been a security breach in which a single user was effected. Just because the hack is not involving a ton of people, Spotify is still taking extensive measures. Interestingly enough, the single user’s password or financial information was not touched. All users, over the course of the coming days, will be required to update the Spotify application. This is merely for Android users that downloaded Spotify from Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. Users on other platforms do not have to take…

LG officially unveils the Smart and Simple G3
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies
LG has finally taken the wraps off of their latest flagship, the LG G3. We’ve heard nearly every detail about the device from leaks already, but LG has confirmed a few things that we weren’t completely sure about. The G3 has most of the high-end hardware we’ve come to expect from LG, including a top-of-the-line processor and that extremely high resolution screen we’ve heard so much about. The G3 has a large 5.5-inch, quad HD screen. That’s a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display, which will definitely look very impressive. There’s a Snapdragon 801 processor on board, along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, but LG will be offering a model with 3 GB of RAM an…

Asus releases teaser video for “The Next Incredible Thing”
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies
Asus will be at Computex 2014 next week, so they’ve released a short teaser video to build up some hype for whatever it is that they’ll be announcing. The short clip is simply someone writing out “The Next Incredible Thing” on a piece of paper, and the G at the end of the sentence disappears at the end of the video. So, whatever Asus has planned, it’s going to be incredible, it’s going to be a thing, and it’s also going to be thin. Awesome. We’ve seen a few Asus leaks recently, including some new ZenFone models, so it’s hard to tell exactly what thin device Asus is excited about. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out. If you’re interested, …

LG G3 carrier information for the United States
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies
With today’s announcement of the LG G3, we also get information as to what carriers in the United States are making this LG handset available. Long story short: each of the ‘Big Four’ are going to carry the LG G3. For now, we have information from all but AT&T. Two carriers, T-Mobile and Sprint, have gone live with per-registration pages. This page not only alerts you when the device will become available for pre-order, but also enters you into a contest to win an LG G3. T-Mobile will be giving away a ‘Beta model’ each day through June 29 and Sprint just says it has twenty units up for grabs. While T-Mobile did not say anything regarding an expected arrival, Sprint…

Here are two small but important changes Apple should make with iOS 8
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies
It's always good to keep up with fan communities online to get a sense of what they both like and dislike about changes made to their favorite products. Over the weekend, we spotted a couple of popular threads over at Reddit's iPhone and Apple communities that gave voice to some minor grievances that iOS users have with some of the changes Apple has made to its mobile OS and we thought that they were worth highlighting to see if BGR-reading iPhone users had any similar impressions. LG G3 hands-on preview: Can LG’s latest flagship really kill the Galaxy S5?
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

Just a few short months after the release of the G2, LG is back with a brand-new flagship device. The G3 has been leaked more extensively than any other phone in recent memory, but the leaks don't distract from what might be the best oversized Android smartphone ever made. As with last year's model, the LG G3 features top-of-the-line specifications. At 5.5 inches, the G3 towers over its competition, making a strong case for the ever-increasing size of the flagship smartphone. Inside, the G3 contains a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Continue reading... Via BRG - Boy Genius Report

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/ce4c11ddc1a254ec2ca2194235b3d264.jpg It looks like we're going to have to shrink our list of most anticipated PS4 games for 2014. Polygon has learned that The Order: 1886, the first original IP from developer Ready at Dawn and one of the more interesting PS4 exclusives we've seen, has been delayed until February 2015. The Order: 1886 is a third-person, cover-based shooter set in a alternate timeline Victorian-era London, full of steampunk technology and terrifying monsters. It was originally set to debut before the end of the year, but the team wasn't able to hit that deadline. Continue reading... Via BRG - Boy Genius…

Review: Soul Sacrifice Delta for PS Vita
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies
Soul Sacrifice Delta is not a sequel to the PS Vita exclusive title that preceded it, but more like a director's cut. All of the original content is intact with a few substantial additions which make this a tempting offer for fans of the original. If you never got around to playing the first release of Soul Sacrifice, you should think twice before discounting this as another Monster Hunter rip-off. Continue reading... by Guest Harrison Kaminsky- 0 replies

HTC will come through with its promise of 2 years of support to One (M7) owners this week — the device will be updated to Sense 6 this week. Unlocked and developer editions of the device were updated last week, and the T-Mobile variant followed shortly after. It appears that Verizon is preparing to send out the update this week. The update includes a redesigned camera app, a fresh appearance for BlinkFeed and a Sense TV application. It could also include Extreme Power Saving Mode, but we’ll have to wait to find out. AT&T and Sprint both have received the update from HTC and the two carriers are working on certification before shipping it out OTA to their cu…

Google reportedly acquiring Dropcam, pushing further into the home
by Guest Brendan Lynch- 0 replies
With Google’s recent acquisition of Nest for $3.2 billion, it is clear that the company is interested in making a push into people’s homes. Google is now reportedly in talks to take the next step in this process by acquiring Dropcam, a startup specializing in video monitoring for the home. While we are unsure what stages this acquisition is in, or if it is even still on the table, the fact that Google was even interested in the company in the first place suggests Google is ready to take the home more seriously. Dropcam’s cloud-based video monitoring give users the ability to access surveillance of their homes anywhere they have a network connection. Perhaps their …

GUARANTEED PRIVACY! How to be 100% certain that your Android phone isn't spying on you
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/dc718cba43ba8ce07a60d4afcfbdf5da.jpg Last week, a developer revealed to the world just how easy it is for a nefarious hacker to use your Android phone to spy on you. With some simplecode that utilized a serious security hole, the developer was able to create a program that caused an Android handset's camera to covertly capture photos on command, and then transmit those photos to a remote server without the user ever knowing. The idea that your smartphone might be taking photos of you and sending them to a hacker without your knowledge is absolutely terrifying. But as it turns out, there's an app that can guarantee your phone…

It looks like Apple really does have plans to make an iPhone with a Liquidmetal chassis at some point in the future, although it likely won't be the iPhone 6. AppleInsider has found a recently granted Apple patent that details a way to embed a sapphire or glass display into a chassis made from amorphous metal that AppleInsider says must be a reference to Liquidmetal. http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/6a3842951166a0d9ebf9f00829874224.jpg LG's G3 smartphone probably won't "kill" the Galaxy S5 but LG would be more than happy to see it peel away some customers from Samsung's latest flagship phone. Walnut backing for Moto X replaced by Rosewood on Moto Maker
by Guest Harrison Kaminsky- 0 replies
Back when the ‘natural wood’ backs for the Moto X were announced, the options included rosewood, teak, ebony and bamboo. However when Moto Maker was launched, rosewood was nowhere in sight, and walnut was an option instead. But today if you visit Moto Maker you won’t find the walnut option — you’ll find rosewood it its place. The only question is, is the rosewood any different from walnut? It appears not, or at least for now. The preview picture for the rosewood backing appears to be the same backing as was on the walnut version when it was available. It’s not the same exact image though, so let us know if you can see any differences between the image of the old w…

LG’s G Watch could feature cellular connectivity
by Guest Harrison Kaminsky- 0 replies

Compared to what we’ve seen from the upcoming Moto 360 smartwatch, most other wearable devices have looked pretty underwhelming, namely the LG G Watch, which is going to be made out of plastic, and as previous rumors suggest, won’t have top-line specs. But new information suggests we could be in for quite a surprise with the G Watch. Hit the break for more. It appears that the G Watch, via an USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module), the device will feature cellular (3G) connectivity. If you remember, just a few months ago it was reported that Samsung could be working on a Gear 2 variant with cellular connectivity as well, which could be released at the same…

Asus’ ZenFone line, which includes the ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 could add on two new devices pretty soon — the ZenFone 5 LTE and the ZenFone DIY. Chinese site VR-Zone reported that the ZenFone 5 LTE will not only support LTE but also wireless charging, a Qualcomm SoC, a 5-inch, 720 x 1,280 pixel display and 2GB RAM. The ZenFone DIY is a relative unknown, but expect this to be similar to the Moto X.
