There’s really nothing the LG G3 can surprise us with
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

LG is obviously eager to start selling the G3, and can’t wait to tell potential buyers everything about it. At least this seems to be the conclusion following large number of unofficial leaks detailing the phone, the various confirmations from the company’s recent announcements and teasers, and the leaked pages from its official websites. After LG U.K. listed the specs of the handset, saying it will offer microSD support for cards up to 2TB, LG Netherlands has spilled all the remaining G3 secrets, including special software features, Droid-Life reports. But it is our data and devices being compromised constantly by nefarious hackers, and their latest tactics use Apple's own security tools against Apple device owners in one of the most devious hacks we have seen in quite some time. Get a peek at possible Android for automobiles interface
by Guest Jeff Causey- 0 replies
Earlier this year Google announced a partnership with several automakers to create the Open Automotive Alliance with the goal of bringing the Android platform to onboard computer systems in cars. Although there has not been much news on this effort the last few months, it is easy to see that several of Google’s initiatives could easily be ported over to an automobile interface. Sources with Android Police say they have seen some early work on “Android in the Car” and they have even recreated some of the functionality for demonstration purposes in a first peek at the new system. One of the characteristics of the new Android system for autos is the heavy reliance on voic…

Sprint website confirms 64GB Moto X
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies
With the Moto X having been launched last August, it seems likely that the device will be replaced by a new one in the near future. While there should be a sequel coming soon, it looks like Motorola isn’t ready to let the Moto X go just yet, with hints toward a 64GB version of the device popping up. The latest of these hints comes from the Sprint website. While there isn’t a formal product page for a 64GB version of the device, the phone does pop up as an option when you shop for accessories. This still doesn’t give any clue into pricing and availability, but at least it somewhat confirms that a device does exist. Source: Sprint Via: PocketNow Come comment on …

Samsung reportedly working on hand-controlled smartwatch
by Guest Brendan Lynch- 0 replies
Samsung has just made an interesting move that could shed some light on the company’s future smartwatch plans. In a recent patent application, Samsung detailed a method of controlling a smartwatch not with touch, but by the waving of your hands. Samsung certainly has a history of unique gestures in their devices, beginning with the Galaxy S 4. It was with the S4 that Samsung introduced the concept of controlling functions like scrolling and swiping without touching the screen of your device. While these gestures weren’t a huge selling point for the device, they remained when Samsung launched the updated Galaxy S 5. Now, it seems as though they will be taking a sim…

Motorola’s website has been the source of many leaks related to the company’s upcoming smartphone models, and it looks like more details about Motorola’s next flagship device have been uncovered. According to code found by Mobiltelefon.ru on the MotoMaker portion on the website, Motorola may soon offer buyers a 64GB Moto X model. by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/adef111d010f1b05c82b707d7cde8a47.jpg Amazing but true: Samsung is still releasing new versions of the Galaxy S4, its 2013 flagship smartphone that has spawned at least a dozen different versions, including the Galaxy S4 mini, the Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Galaxy S4 Black Edition and, our personal favorite, the Galaxy S4 La Fleur edition. Over the weekend Samsung formally launched the new Galaxy S4 Value Edition, a new device that we first heard about last February but had hoped Samsung would drop now that its new Galaxy S5 is out and about. But no — apparently the temptation to squirt out yet another version of …

Don’t get too excited about the G3’s 2TB microSD card support
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The LG G3 will be one of the best Android handsets around when LG finally launches it on Tuesday. It will offer buyers several interesting features including an already confirmed high-resolution 2K display, metal or metal-like design, optical image stabilization in the camera, removable battery and support for microSD cards (both features unavailable to G2 owners) and a brand new protective case with smart functions. However, the wildest feature yet on the G3 appears to be support for up to 2TB of storage via microSD cards, which appears to be a first for smartphones, at least according to LG’s U.K. site, which mentioned the specs of the unreleased handset. LG’s Dutch website briefly reveals G3 before press unveiling
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies
The LG G3 has been the victim of a number of leaks, and the latest one comes from LG themselves. The device itself is scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow, but the Dutch version of the LG website briefly had the product page up today. While it was taken down almost immediately, there was still enough time for those with keen eyes to record almost everything about the device. The specs of the device are, of course, much better than the G2 from last year. They include a Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage, with expandable storage. The screen size is 5.5″ at a resolution of 2560×1400, which is the highest resolution on any smartphone currently available…

With the LG G3 set to be released tomorrow, many are wondering how big the device will be. It’s always been expected to be large because of the 5.5-inch display. A new leaked image shows just how big it is compared to the HTC One M8. The images also show the brushed metal design on the back, giving it a premium look. Not only that, but the auto-focus feature that has been rumored to be present on the device is shown. Other specs of the device were leaked earlier today. Samsung, Sony still trail Pebble in the ‘smart wearable bands’ category
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies
Pebble is still leading the way when it comes to ‘smart wearable bands’ (or smartwatches). Research firm Canalys found that, as of the first quarter of 2014, Pebble chimed in with 35% market share while Samsung and Sony followed with 29% and 23%, respectively. As we all know, Pebble has its self-titled smartwatch and Samsung has the Gear line. Sony, on the other hand, quietly maintains its Smartwatch 2. The final 13% is left for others to fight for. These numbers are bound to change with LG and Motorola prepping an entry into the smartwatch game. Fitness wearables, though, is heavily secured by Fitbit and its 50% market share in that field. That is another field seeing…

Latest leak still puts HTC One (M8) Ace release next week
by Guest Jeff Causey- 0 replies
We have already had one leak indicate HTC is planning to release a new smartphone on June 3rd, a phone that many believe will be the HTC One (M8) Ace. A new source out of China indicates the June 3rd date is good for the Chinese market where the device is expected to sell for 3,000 yuan ($481 USD). Based on previously leaked information, the lower price makes sense as the Ace is expected to be a plastic-bodied version of the HTC One (M8). Besides the downgrade in materials used for the body, the Ace is also expected to get a normal 13MP camera and not HTC’s duo camera system. Otherwise, specs are the same for the two devices. Beyond the date for the Chinese market rele…

Samsung testing Android 4.4.3 while working on rolling out Android 4.4.2 to some devices
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies
If you are not an owner of this year’s Galaxy S 5 or even last year’s Galaxy S 4, just know that Samsung does still care about you. While an alleged schedule claims that the aforementioned devices are currently being tested for Android 4.4.3, a multitude of Samsung handsets are nearing an update to Android 4.4.2. All of the devices prepping for Android 4.4.2 are pegged for the update in either May or June. Some have already gotten the update and others are waiting in the testing stage. Only one device, the Galaxy S III, does not have an estimated time of arrival. This is not the LTE variant, though. Hit the break to see the full Android 4.4.2 update schedule for Sam…
