This is the one USB stick every iPhone fan will want to own
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies
Do you want a quick way to zip files from your iPhone or iPad to your PC that doesn't involve carrying a Lightning cable around with you everywhere? Then you might want to check out the iStick, a new USB flash storage drive that has both a standard USB connector and an approved Apple Lightning connector as well. The iStick, which is being developed by the Sanho Corporation, has launched a Kickstarter page where so far it's raised close to $600,000, more than 6 times the $100,000 it had set out to raise and it still has 26 days to go. by Guest Harrison Kaminsky- 0 replies

Louis Gray, head of Google Developers Live, has made a post on his Google+ page directed toward developers of Android Wear. Here’s what he had to say: Developers, have you created an app you would like to get in the hands of the first wave of Android Wear users? If you have, we’d like to see what you’ve built. Early participants can gain direct design and product feedback from our team, and possibly, higher visibility from exposure at I/O, our collections and in the Google Play store. Send us an email with a link to your APK and, optionally, open source code to wear-apps@android.com. It’s nice to see that Google will be taking an active stance with gettin…

Two VoLTE-enabled device are necessary and Verizon will give callers the option to use voice or voice with video. Apple and Google are in hot water over allegedly deceptive in-app purchases
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies
In-app purchases have been a controversial topic in the mobile market ever since they debuted on the App Store. Free-to-play game developers, which had formerly depended on advertising revenue to sustain their business model, were suddenly presented with an attractive alternative: sell in-game currency or exclusive items for real money to empower the players. Of course, not everyone sees IAP as beneficial to the market, which is why Italy's Antitrust Authority is launching an investigation against Apple, Amazon, Google and app publisher Gameloft regarding commercial practices related to IAP. by Guest Ben Zigterman- 0 replies

Sprint was hit with a $7.5 million fine by the Federal Communications Commission for not complying with the Do Not Call Registry by sending consumers unwanted phone calls and text messages, according to The Associate Press. Sprint’s fine is the largest Do Not Call-related fine the FCC has ever handed out. That being said, Sprint will probably be OK, with its $8.88 billion in revenue last quarter. Continue reading... by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

The cold, dreaded hands of Microsoft devices and services boss Stephen Elop are now apparently responsible for killing off another product. Bloomberg is reporting that Elop, who most famously ordered the death of the once-dominant Symbian platform during his tenure as Nokia's CEO, was responsible for axing a smaller, cheaper version of Microsoft's Surface tablet that was tentatively called the Surface mini. What happens when your self-driving Google car gets a ticket?
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
Google’s self-driving car project may still be in its infancy, but one day the system it proposes will be available to consumers at large, who’ll be able to have their cars driven for them instead of having to actually do the deed themselves. While Google is further developing its driverless car, legislation also needs to be adapted to address potential legal problems of the future, such as when police give tickets to self-driving vehicles. Oppo N1 Mini confirmed by FCC filing photos
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies
The FCC has inspected and approved a device going by the Oppo N5116, and judging from the released pictures and specs, it looks like it’s going to be a mini version of the Oppo N1. We knew this device was coming, but thanks to this filing we’re getting a much better look at how the device is going to look. The Mini keeps the design of its bigger brother and looks nearly identical, except for the slimmed down screen. The display on the N5116 measures about 5 inches, which is still really hard to call a “mini” device, but since the normal N1 sports a 5.9-inch screen, it’s almost excusable. It’s also only a 720p screen as opposed to the 1080p screen found on the bigge…

Italian Antitrust Authority investigating Google, Apple, Gameloft, and Amazon over in-app...
by Guest Jared Peters- 0 replies
Everybody deals with those pesky in-app purchases from time to time, especially in mobile games. The in-app purchases help developers make money by luring potential customers in with a free (and often very limited) game, then hitting them with a paywall a few hours in. Sometimes levels are locked if you don’t pay for them, and sometimes leveling up your character is incredibly tedious if you don’t spend real money on in-game currency. Well, Italy’s Antitrust and Competition Authority sees those in-app purchases as unfair to consumers, as they’ve launched an investigation into Google, Amazon, Apple, and Gameloft, claiming those four companies used deceptive advertisi…

Galaxy S 5 Active finally revealed in leaked images and video
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies
The Galaxy S 5 Active is definitely in the works and should be released soon. It will be a more rugged version of the Galaxy S 5, and these images reveal that it will resemble last year’s Galaxy S 4 Active. The Galaxy S 5 is already water and dust resistant, but the Active will be for those people that are constantly around harsh conditions such as construction sites. We aren’t sure if this is the final production unit, but we don’t expect the final product to look all that different. Rumors indicate it will be available on AT&T and Sprint. Hit the break for more images and the hands on video. Click here to view the embedded video. sources: T…

In-depth video review shows you all of the OnePlus One’s best features
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

We'd love to review the OnePlus One ourselves... except the device is almost impossible to come by and even one person who thought that he'd gotten one only wound up with an empty box. However, Marques Brownlee has been lucky enough to get his hands on this semi-mythic device and he's just posted a thorough video review showing off the OnePlus One's best features. Is this the plastic version of the best Android phone in the world?
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The HTC One (M8) Ace is supposed to be HTC’s plastic version of the HTC One (M8), one of the best Android phones available in stores right now, although the company has yet to officially unveil it. Recent reports claimed that the Ace will pack M8-grade specs in a plastic body and will retail for a more affordable price, as HTC continues looking to offer smartphone buyers a better competitor to the Galaxy S5. However, not many images showing the alleged device have been leaked so far, with @evleaks having shared a blurry image of the front side of the handset back in early April. Continue reading... Here’s another way the Galaxy S5 Prime will be better than the Galaxy S5
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

http://androidforum.us/data/MetaMirrorCache/02940b302f51be4369101e9f3a5ec2e3.jpg So far a lot of the speculation about the upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime has been about its reportedly sturdier metal build but now ZDNet Korea reports that the S5 Prime might be better than the Galaxy S5 in yet another way: Its wireless connectivity. ZDNet Korea's sources in the telecom industry say that the Galaxy S5 Prime will be able to support download speeds of up to 225Mbps thanks to its inclusion of Qualcomm’s MDM 9635 chip that released last November and that it is capable of sending and receiving data through three different spectrum bands. Samsung is dominating the smartwatch market, tiny though it may be
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

In case we weren't clear enough in our review last year, the Galaxy Gear failed to impress us. It was an underwhelming entry into a market that hasn't quite found an audience yet, but we might have underestimated the power of Samsung's marketing team. According to a recent report from Strategy Analytics, Samsung's original Galaxy Gear smartwatch shipped more units in the first quarter of 2014 than Pebble, Motorola or any other vendor. In preparation for G Watch launch, LG says that a smart watch is a fusion of IT and fashion
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies

The LG G Watch is set to be the first Android Wear device on the market. Last week, LG released a video highlighting the design of the device. This week the company has released an article entitled “Smart Watch is an IT and fashion fusion.” The article details how the G Watch is not the first wrist worn device that the company has thought about. In fact, LG released the “Prada Link” in 2008, and a prototype in 2009 that was able to make video calls. The LG G Watch is set to be released in June in Stealth Black and Champagne Gold. Google+ Stories and Movies coming later this week
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies
It appears Google+ isn’t the walking dead, at least for today. Google just announced Google+ Stories and Movies, which will be launching on the desktop and Android this week (iOS coming soon). Stories is the bigger news of the day, and is perfect for vacations. After your vacation, you are likely to have hundreds of photos and videos to sift through, but Google is going to make it a little easier by gifting you a Story, which is a travelogue or diary. In a nutshell, it’s a slide show with notes describing the things that you were doing or places you were visiting on your trip. We can only assume that you will be able to modify the gifted Story, just like you can with M…

HTC One (M8) Ace render with ‘beautiful curves’ leaks
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies
Yesterday, HTC teased something with beautiful curves, but is it a tablet, a phone, a smartwatch, or something entirely different? HTC hasn’t officially told us yet, but today’s leak might just indicate that it’s the HTC One (M8) Ace. The picture above is the One (M8) Ace and you will notice that it not only curves horizontally like the One (M8), but it also has a vertical curve to it as well. So, yes, it does have some extra curves to it, but we don’t know for sure if this is indeed the device that HTC was referring to, but my money is on it. The M8 Ace is supposed to be a plastic version of the M8, but based on the image, it appears plastics won’t be the only di…
