Earlier this week, we shared a video that explained the incredible potential of graphene, a transparent material that is just a single atom thick. According to the video, graphene is “stronger than diamond, more conductive than copper, more flexible than rubber and it’s so thin you can barely see it with the naked eye.” We also noted that Samsung developed a manufacturing process last month for graphene that could speed up its use in actual commercial products. Graphene could be key to the future of flexible displays, wearable devices, and even batteries. Bloomberg says graphene could lead to phones that stay “charged for a week and recharges in 15 minutes.” Continue r…

Earlier today we reported on the addition of PayPal as a payment option in the Google Play app. Since Google rolls out updates to their core apps over the course of several days, there is a good chance you could still be waiting for this update. You don’t have to though as the APK is now available for download and install using the link below. Before hitting the download link though, there are a few more improvements that have been spotted in the app. The permissions menu has been simplified and should be a little more user-friendly thanks to categories that can be collapsed or expanded as a user sees fit. Bill reminder integration rolling out to Google Now
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies
A while back there were rumors suggesting that Google would be integrating the bill reminder feature that is in Gmail with Google Now. Well that integration has started rolling out. Right now the feature is pretty basic, and it essentially identifies which emails in your account are bills. A card will then show up in Google Now with the name of the biller, the amount due, the date due, and the ability to see the email with the bill. The feature is still in its early stages, so there’s currently no way to pay directly from Google Now. When the rumors were first started it was due to a string of code in the Now APK, which also showed strings for minimum payments, previou…

by Guest Jeff Causey- 0 replies

Although wireless carriers receive a lot of attention whenever they change plans or offer new options for private consumers, the market for small businesses is another important component of their business. Today Verizon announced they were adding new options for small businesses in need of voice, messaging and data plans. New shareable data options have been created with 60 GB, 80 GB and 100 GB of data available per month. Each of these plans can be used on up to 50 devices including smartphones, tablets and Jetpacks. A 60 GB plan with voice and data runs $450 per month, while an 80 GB plan pushes that up to $600 per month and $750 per month for 100 GB of data. If dat…

More details about Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Prime trickle out
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

We've just gotten our best indication yet that the launch of Samsung's Galaxy S5 Prime is imminent. @evleaks, one of the most reliable gadget leakers around who typically gets intel on devices that are fairly close to being released, wrote on Thursday that the Galaxy S5 Prime will soon launch in Korea and will come in five different color options: "Black, white, gold, blue, and sweet pink." The Galaxy S5 Prime is supposedly going to be an even higher-end version of its popular Galaxy S5 smartphone that will use a metal case instead of Samsung's trademark plastic shell. Samsung typically releases several different variations of its flagship devices — it released at least 1…

Flappy Bird creator posts a teaser for his crappy new game
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies

Amazing as it seems, we are still talking about Flappy Bird all these months later. And now Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen has given us our first look at his followup to his one-time smash-hit mobile game, which he said earlier this week would involve "a guy jumping from building to building." Sure enough, the picture Nguyen posted on Twitter Thursday afternoon features a faceless man in a white helmet jumping onto the roof of a building and then rushing off to presumably jump to another building. Will this new game be as successful? We have our doubts since even big-name studios such as Rovio and King have had trouble expanding their game empire beyond their first hit f…

Compatibility layer project brings iOS and Android apps together
by Guest Jack Holt- 0 replies
One of the most frustrating things about being an Android user — regardless of how popular the OS is — is that app developers tend to flock to iOS first. A prime example of this would be the finally released Baldur’s Gate. Android users are seeing the first of the series where iOS users have access to the more popular Baldur’s Gate II. Someone much smarter — or with better understanding — than I would have to explain why this happens but the reality is, iOS users get a chance at certain apps before Android users. Well that may no longer be the case as an iOS compatibility layer has surfaced, allowing for users to run both Android and iOS apps at the same time. However …

Today we’re seeing the device out in the wild. Not only do we see the G3 itself but we see the Quick Cover case on it as well. As we can see from the picture, the device is big. Given the rumored 5.5-inch QuadHD display that’s not a surprise. We’re less than two weeks away from the official announcement of the device. Are you folks out there interested in the device? source: Seeko via: …

In April, evleaks showed us a red variant of the HTC One M8 in all its glory and while the device has yet to reach an official capacity, HTC is moving in that direction. A 3D model, hosted by Sketchfab allows you to play with the device and was uploaded by the Taiwanese company itself. Heck, the device has even surfaced in Taiwan suggesting that it will be available starting today in the country. What this could potentially mean is that we’re edging closer to an official release in other areas of the world. We have the 3D model and other shots of the One M8 in red after the break. sources: GSM Arena, PocketDroid Come comment on this article: HT…

Straight Talk, the no contract pre-paid wireless provider, has announced a small bump in the data limit on their $45 per month plan. The unlimited talk and text plan now gets 3GB of data per month, a small increase from the 2.5GB limit that was in place.
