Amazing Things Happen: Samsung unveils first Galaxy S 5 commercial during Academy Awards
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies
It was all about Samsung last night during the Academy Awards. From commercials to selfies, Samsung went all out. They even unveiled the first Galaxy S 5 spot. If you’re looking for a little Apple poking, forget it. This was just a simple teaser spot that seemed very similar to what they showed at the Unpacked Event when JK Shin first unveiled the phone. Don’t worry, I am sure they will bring back the tongue in cheek soon because this is no doubt just the first of very many GS5 spots. I think the main thing they wanted to get across was that it’s coming this April. Hit the break for the 30-second spot. Click here to view the embedded video. Come comment …

Oppo Find 7 could have a very amazing camera
by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies
Oppo told us that the Find 7 would be greater than the Galaxy S 5, and they weren’t kidding. If a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display isn’t enough to get your blood flowing, how about a 50 megapixels camera? An image taken with the Find 7 camera was recently uploaded to Weibo, and it has a whopping 8160 x 6120 resolution according to the EXIF data. That comes to 50MP. Now we know this could be fake, but if Nokia can do 41MP, why can’t this be real? We aren’t too far off from finding out for sure. The Find 7 is slated to be unveiled on March 19 in Beijing. source: Weibo via: giZCHinA Come comment on this article: Oppo Find 7 could have a very amazing camera Vi…

by Guest Robert Nazarian- 0 replies

The Nokia X might not be the most advanced device in the world, but Nokia fans have to be excited they finally came out with an Android smartphone. The only problem is that it doesn’t support Google services, and instead, supports Microsoft products. Well if you’re a tinkerer, you will be happy to know that the Nokia X is already rooted, which means that you can load Google Apps, the Play Store, and even the Google Now Launcher. XDA senior member Kashamalaga was lucky enough to walk away with a Nokia X from Mobile World Congress and was shocked at how easy it was too root. The bootloader remains locked, but by using Gandalf Exploit included in Framaroot, you can gain r…

by Guest Macky Evangelista- 0 replies

Well this is certainly surprising. Usually when a phone leaks on video this early before it’s release, it’s in a terrible non-HD type quality with no sound. Today we have a 12 minute video showcasing the new HTC One (M8) by a kid who somehow got his hands on the device. Keep in mind that this may not be the best review you’ve ever seen, but the kid has still provided us with a clear and long video of the HTC M8 giving us all a first look at the much anticipated device. Check out the video after the break and let us know what you think! Click here to view the embedded video. Update: This original video was already marked as private, but somebody else did d…

by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies

The upcoming LG G3 has had a lot of rumors surrounding it. Originally, rumors suggested that the device would be released sometime in May, but new sources suggest that instead the device will be released in June. While we certainly don’t know for sure if these or any other rumors surrounding the device are true, it does seem very possible, especially seeing as even Sony has announced a bi-annual flagship mobile strategy. The device will likely be quite similar to the LG G2, and will include updated hardware. Google Glass team focusing on updating to KitKat
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies

If you own Google Glass or are simply interested in it and its updates, you may have noticed that Glass didn’t get any usual major monthly updates in the months of January and February. Well according to a post on the Google Glass community Glass Almanac, monthly updates stopped after XE12 was released last year. This isn’t necessarily bad though, as it means that the team behind Glass is focusing more heavily on bigger updates, such as updating from Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to Android 4.4 (KitKat). The goal behind updating to KitKat is to make things “smoother and better”, according to Glass team member Teresa Zazenski. Source: Glass Almanac Via: Engadge…

Samsung confirms that they’re working on 64-bit processors for this year
by Guest Christian de Looper- 0 replies

Samsung has confirmed that they are working on 64-bit processors, with a goal of releasing them this year. Samsung will build these processors under their Exynos name, which appears in many of Samsung’s devices. Samsung has been lagging behind many it its rivals when it comes to 64-bit processing. 64-bit processors are able to handle much more data than 32-bit processors that are found in many mobile devices today. A number of chip companies have already started creating 64-bit processors in anticipation for their need in the market. Apple was in fact the first company to make them, and included a 64-bit processor in their iPhone 5S. After that, Qualcomm revealed …

We have the Fitbit, Nike FuelBand, and even the new Samsung Gear Fit for all our fitness needs, but what about your dog? Well there is an app for that, and an accessory as well. Whistle, which has already been available on iOS, just launched on Android in the Google Play Store. The Whistle app will track your canine’s day-to-day behavior and long-term health trends. Data is uploaded via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and will track activities such as walking, playing, and rest. Of course you will need the Whistle Activity Monitor in order to track all these activities. The monitor attaches to your dog’s existing collar. Availability was fairly limited, but they just announced that…

Samsung Chromebook 2 leaks, faux leather spans across the lid

Yesterday, @evleaks posted an image of a mysterious Chrome-branded device that featured the same faux leather back found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. And now, just a short time ago, he posted what the actual device is called and what it will look like. The Chomebook 2 is its name and it features all of that faux leather goodness on its lid. Do consumers want a massive amount of faux leather on a Chromebook? I beg to differ. But other than that, this actually looks like an attractive, slim Chromebook. Google sits third as the world’s most admired company as Apple leads the pack
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies

Just how admired are the world’s largest tech companies? According to Fortune, very much so. Unsurprisingly, Apple finished in first. I say unsurprisingly because Apple does consistently deliver products that ‘just work’ and rarely receive severe backlash from the media and consumers. Amazon rolled into second and Google earned bronze in third place. Samsung, however, was twenty-first. This, of course, should not be worrisome as the list is comprised of companies in any industry. For example, Costco was twelfth on the list. Check out the source link below to see the full list that Fortune created. Source: CNNMoney Come comment on this article: Google sits third…

As we get closer to its March 25 announcement in New York City, new information continues to surface about The all new HTC One. This time around, @evleaks gives us a look at the AT&T model of HTC’s 2014 flagship. It looks like the only truly noticeable branding is on the backside where AT&T has opted to stamp their logo. by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies

Shortly after leaking the AT&T model of HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphone, @evleaks posted Verizon’s. And this time around, the device is in gray. Verizon opted to put its logo on the back of the device like AT&T; however, Big Red also threw in its 4G LTE logo. Also, Verizon’s 4G LTE icon is present in the status bar. Nothing else has changed between this device and the one from the AT&T leak from before. Just stay tuned because there is a very good chance that we see the Sprint or T-Mobile models leak in gold. Windows Store heats up, doubles daily app downloads in 6 months
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies
Microsoft didn't make a lot of waves at Mobile World Congress this week but TechCrunch has spotted a little-reported detail from its MWC presentation that shows how Microsoft's Windows Store has made some very strong gains over just the past six months. At MWC this week Microsoft said that Windows Store is now serving 4 million app downloads a day, which TechCrunch estimates is a 135% increase from the 1.7 million daily downloads it averaged this past October. This is extremely impressive growth, especially when you consider that Apple's App Store last year was averaging daily download volumes in the 5.5 million to 6 million range. If Windows Store's numbers keep growing …

Sorry, Samsung fans: It looks like Galaxy S5 won’t be cheaper after all
by Guest Brad Reed- 0 replies
Although Samsung has reportedly considered pricing the Galaxy S5 lower than it priced the Galaxy S4, new information posted by U.K.-based retailer Clove suggests that Samsung's next big thing will have the same price as its last big thing, if not higher. SamMobile notices that Clove is now taking preorders for the device starting at "£499.99 (£599.99 after taxes), which comes out to around $1000." Similarly, Amazon Spain is taking preorders for the 16GB Galaxy S5 starting at €730, which also comes out to around $1,000. In other words, anyone who was hoping to get the Galaxy S5 for less than the Galaxy S4's original $640 off-contract price is likely to be sorely disappoint…
