Carriers in Canada are shipping the Samsung Galaxy S8 early
by Guest Justin Herrick- 0 replies

You’ll need to live in Canada if you want the Samsung Galaxy S8 early. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ won’t arrive until April 21, at least in the United States. That release date is actually pretty standard globally. However, multiple Canadian carriers aren’t caring for Samsung’s self-imposed release date. Bell, Rogers, Telus, and Videotron have […] Come comment on this article: Carriers in Canada are shipping the Samsung Galaxy S8 early Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

Not too long ago, Netflix announced support for offline playback, a feature that many users have been waiting for. That meant iPhone and Android users could simply download all the Netflix content they wanted and view it whenever they wanted, regardless of whether an internet connection is available or not. The feature is now available on Windows 10, which is great news for anyone looking to watch shows offline on a bigger screen while they’re traveling. Continue reading... 11 Netflix tips and tricks that will completely change the way you binge
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

Netflix has completely transformed the way we watch and enjoy TV, a feat made all the more remarkable given that the streaming giant was nothing more than a purveyor of DVDs by mail just a few years ago. These days, Netflix is churning out content faster than most people can keep up with. In April alone, Netflix has plans to roll out 25 new original programs, including a highly anticipated new stand-up special from Louis C.K. And in case you missed it, Netflix late last week rolled out 13 Reasons Why, a gripping drama based on the book of the same name that has already garnered a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now if this all old news to you and you fancy yourself some…

Apple’s working on a new TV service that might be unlike anything we’ve seen
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

I've been pretty critical of Apple's efforts in the TV space, having previously called the company's seemingly non-existent TV strategy aimless and backwards. And with good reason, nothing Apple has done to date suggests that the company truly understands what makes for a compelling TV viewing experience. Bizarrely, Apple still can't seem to figure out if it wants to jump into the TV space head-first or simply leverage a few TV programs to bolster its Apple Music service. What's more, Apple's rumored TV subscription service remains nowhere to be seen. If you recall, Apple a few years ago was reportedly interested in rolling out a skinny bundle of cable TV channels at a…

Galaxy S8’s design was even bolder, but we’ll probably see it on the Galaxy Note 8
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
Samsung unveiled last week its most important smartphone of the year, the Galaxy S8. The handset looks a lot better in person than in any of the many weeks we saw in the final weeks preceding the phone’s launch, but the design is far from being perfect. The phone has a gorgeous Infinity display, but the rear shell is on the stranger side of things. The placement of the fingerprint sensor is particularly annoying, but a new series of Galaxy S8 leaks indicates that’s more of a compromise. Apparently, Samsung had a bolder design in mind, but it wasn’t able to deliver. Continue reading... Trending right now: Apple to develop game-changing iPhone component Let’s hop…

Amazon’s 20% off smart device sale lets you control everything in your home with Alexa
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

A few year ago, every electronics company out there dove head-first into the smart home game, which analysts said was going to be the next big thing. Yeah... not so much. But then, something exciting happened — and its name is Alexa. Amazon's virtual personal assistant burst onto the scene and gave all of these smart home devices a common interface that was easy to use. Now, people can't live without their smart home gadgets. Of course, there are still plenty of devices in your home that aren't smart and that don't work with Alexa, but that's where TP-Link's Alexa-enabled lineup comes in. And today, Amazon is hosting a big sale that knocks 20% off the price of all the …

Extinct creature sightings are piling up in Australia
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
Multiple reports of Tasmanian Tiger sightings are starting to flow in from everyday citizens in Australia. Several people have recently claimed they've spotted the animal, which isn't a tiger at all — and, despite looking very much like a species of dog, isn't of canine lineage either — but a carnivorous marsupial. Spotting an interesting creature in Australia isn't exactly a rare occurrence, but there's one problem with these reports in particular: the Tasmanian Tiger is supposed to be extinct. Watch Samsung’s Galaxy S8 get unboxed underwater, courtesy of T-Mobile

T-Mobile is continuing their trend of unboxing new devices in the weirdest way possible. This time they’ve taken a Galaxy S8, submerged it, thrown a shark in the pool, and unboxed everything. Nope, not a late April Fool’s joke, either. Weird things people have left in Ubers, ranked
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

One of the best things about Uber is that when you inevitably lose your smartphone in one at 3AM, you can call the driver the next morning and try and get it back. But as it turns out, people routinely leave things much stranger than a wallet in their cars, and are unsurprisingly far too embarrassed to come and retrieve them. Continue reading... These two Alexa-enabled smart thermostats cost way less than Google’s Nest
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

Remember how exciting it was when the first Nest Learning Thermostat came out? Holy moly it can adjust your temperature automatically based on your habits and preferences! It'll save you so much money! Those features are still compelling, of course, but they're no longer advantages for the Nest. Rivals have caught up with the Nest, and even surpassed it in some ways. But the biggest blow is the fact that rival offerings are so much more affordable. In this post you'll find two smart thermostats that are as good or even better than Nest, but they cost much less. One is the 2nd-generation Ecobee3 Thermostat with Sensor, which is on sale for $50 off right now on Amazon. T…

A new research note from analysts at Barclays reveals that Apple's 2017 lineup will feature True Tone display technology. Originally introduced as a feature exclusive to the iPad Pro, Apple boasts that the technology takes advantage of four-channel ambient light sensors "to automatically adapt the color and intensity of the display to match the light in your environment." The end result is a display with more natural color tones, making for a more comfortable viewing experience in the process. Continue reading... This Adobe algorithm can steal any photo’s ‘style,’ and it’s incredible
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Adobe's Photoshop editing software is already the undisputed standard in image manipulation, but if a new, in-development photo feature becomes part of the standard toolkit, it's going to completely blow everything else out of the water. Researchers from Adobe and Cornell have partnered to create what they call "Deep Photo Style Transfer," which essentially steals the very soul of a photograph and applies it to a different image, duplicating the lighting and overall look of the photo while retaining the key elements of the host image. In short, it's absolutely stunning. Continue reading... Trending right now: Using my iPhone for the next six months is really, re…
