Watch the first trailer for the The Walking Dead season 7 finale
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

It’s been a long, confusing, and oftentimes disappointing season 7 of The Walking Dead, but it's almost over. The season finale is nearly upon us, which means we have a week to speculate on what’s going to happen next. Hopefully, AMC will offer us a great ending this year, and leave out any annoying cliffhangers. Next Sunday you can also expect an extended episode, and now is your last chance to avoid any spoilers. $8 screen protector slaps a black front onto your new red iPhone 7
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

As you can see in the image at the top of this post, Apple's new Product Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are absolutely stunning. The anodized metal looks fantastic in red, making this the perfect sixth color for Apple's flagship iPhone lineup. Well, it's almost perfect. When you flip the new red iPhones over you'll see that the front is white instead of black. Product Red devices have a red and white theme, but to put it plainly, it's ugly. Red and black look a hundred times better — in fact, people have actually been doing part swaps in order to get a black front on their new red iPhones. Instead of voiding your warranty and ruining the water-resistance on your new Pr…

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus aren't exactly mysterious devices. Over the past few weeks, it seems that we can't even go a day without coming across newly leaked photos or learning more about each device's respective specs. At this point, there's not much Samsung can announce at its upcoming Unpacked event that would leave us surprised. That said, a new leak over the weekend from the German-language site WinFuture has provided us with even more details regarding Samsung's 2017 smartphone lineup. As far as leaks go, this is unquestionably the biggest one we've seen yet. What's more, the site even published a few Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus marketing renders …

Uber suspends self-driving car program after bizarre accident
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

Uber’s bad streak continues, with a different kind of scandal. The company had a tough year so far, having to face accusations of rampant sexism and harassment, but also a patent-based lawsuit from Google, which alleges that self-driving technology that Uber is currently employing had been stolen by a former Waymo engineer. Self-driving cars are also involved in Uber’s latest mishap, as a test vehicle crashed in Arizona, prompting Uber to suspend the pilot program. Continue reading... Tesla’s Model 3 dashboard won’t be as futuristic as we hoped
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

This past Friday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk dashed the hopes and dreams of prospective Model 3 owners with just a few simple tweets. Tempering expectations, Musk emphasized that Tesla's upcoming Model 3 will not be more advanced -- in any capacity -- than the company's flagship Model S. "Model 3 is just a smaller, more affordable version of Model S [with] less range & power & fewer features," Musk said. "Model S has more advanced technology." Musk later added that the Model 3 will not feature the elegant "auto extend handles" Tesla introduced on the Model S. Continue reading... Anyone who's played a futuristic shooter since the dawn of video games knows that when you see something called a "railgun" you're in for a real treat. Well, the US Navy built a railgun of its very own, and it just showed off its remarkably powerful creation in a new video of its test firing. Continue reading... What if Apple already told us what it’s going to call the iPhone 8?
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
Apple will release three new iPhones this year, including the iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8. The last one will be the iPhone everybody wants, thanks to a fresh new design and a bunch of features never seen before in an iPhone. There are various leaks that seem to be in agreement on what the iPhone 8 will have to offer, but not all of them agree on the product’s commercial name. iPhone 8 is the most popular moniker people use, but we’ve also seen a bunch of additional names including iPhone X, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Edition. Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter what the most anticipated smartphone of the year is called. But a new report suggests Apple …

Five months later, Samsung is finally about to kill every remaining Note 7 phone
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

When it was released last fall, Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 was the hottest Android phone the world had ever seen. Unfortunately though, the Galaxy Note 7 was literally the hottest Android phone the world had ever seen. A poor battery design caused dozens of phones to explode while being charged — and in some cases, while unplugged and in use — causing property damage and even injuring some users in the process. As a result, Samsung was forced to issue an unprecedented global recall, asking everyone around the world who purchased the phone to return or exchange it as soon as possible. Most of the potentially destructive smartphones have been collected by now. Since the pho…

This dartboard lets you hit a bullseye every time, and it took 3 years to build
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
We all have dreams of becoming world champions at darts. Oh, that's just me? Anyway, if you've ever drunkenly stumbled through a game of bar darts and wished you had actual hand-eye coordination you'll be happy to hear there's now a dart board that basically plays the game for you, and lets you nail a bullseye nearly 100% of the time, as long as you can throw in its general direction. The bad news — you knew that was coming, right? — is that the board took over three years to build and required some seriously high-tech engineering to to so. Continue reading... Leak reveals just how successful Nintendo thinks the Switch will be
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

Nintendo was in desperate need of a hit after the company's previous-generation home video game console was an utter disaster. With the Nintendo Switch, it appears as though Nintendo has found that hit. It's obviously far too soon to tell if the Switch can maintain momentum over the long haul, but early signs are outstanding. Nintendo's Wii U successor is in such high demand that the company had to double production. And what's more, those who have managed to get their hands on a Switch already have overwhelmingly positive things to say despite the console's lack of top-tier titles at launch. So far, it does indeed look like the Switch is a hit. How big a hit remains t…

This $19 iPhone dock is basically the same as Apple’s $49 dock
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies
If you want a dock for your iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or any other modern iPhone that uses a Lightning connector, Apple's own dock is a terrific option... as long as you don't mind spending $49 on a tiny little dock. Of course, you could also get the Stouch Aluminum Lightning Charging Dock, which is basically the same thing but costs less than $19. The Stouch dock looks exactly like the Apple model, but there are two main differences. The first is that you plug a microUSB cable into the back instead of a Lightning cable (who cares?) and the second is that it doesn't have a 3.5mm audio jack on the back. The 3.5mm jack is a problem if you use an aux-out cable while your phon…

Scientists have built a tiny battery that provides power and cooling at the same time
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

When it comes to processors, heat is enemy number one. Packing ever more powerful processors into constantly shrinking mobile technology is a recipe for cramped cases and constantly troublesome heat buildup. Researchers from IBM and ETH Zurich think they may be on the verge of a truly novel solution, and it's based on a component that every mobile device already has: the battery. Continue reading... BMW’s vision of the future is, well, pretty much insane
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

BMW is just one of many carmakers with wild concept vehicles aimed at a future with AI pilots and augmented reality features we can only dream of today. That being said, they're one of the few companies that are actually building and selling some pretty futuristic vehicles right now, including the i3 and i8, both of which look like they could have been pulled directly from a Minority Report sequel. Having shown off more than a handful of its wildest visions over the past few years, BMW decided it was time to wrap them all up in a fancy video showing what a future with all of its inventions might look like, and it's exactly as insane as you'd expect it to be.
