In a note to investors on Wednesday, RBC Capital Markets Managing Director Mike Abramsky reiterated the firm’s confidence in Apple’s upcoming next-generation iPad. RBC predicts that Apple will sell 30 million iPad 2 units between April 2011 and March 2012. Apple will unveil the iPad 2 at a media event next week, and the tablet is expected to launch in late March or early April. If 9to5Mac is correct, the photo you see above, that originally appeared on a Chinese reseller of Apple’s parts’ website, is the front digitizer panel for the next generation iPhone. Set to be announced in June, the iPhone 5 has been rumored to include a larger display in the 4-inch range, bumping up from the 3.5-inch size that Apple has used since the handset’s original introduction and features an edge-to-edge screen. In addition to the larger display, the new iPhone is said to be completely redesigned even though the iPhone 4 introduced just six months ago was a radical departure from the previous models. According to information acquired by WinRumors, Verizon Wireless will begin to sell Windows Phone handsets towards the end of March. Citing “people familiar with the company’s plans,” the blog goes on to note that the HTC 7 Trophy — the same CDMA, WP7 handset to be carried by Sprint — could be announced as early as February 28th. The device will have Microsoft’s “NoDo” update (also known as the copy and paste update) and should retail for $199.99 with a signed two-year contract. Yesterday, we told you about an issue being experience by Samsung Windows Phone owners that was causing a recently released update to fail — or in the worst cases render a handset unusable. I recently purchased an Galaxy S7 from T-Mobile and want to root the phone in order to install custom themes and ROMs. I searched on XDA and tested a few free Android rooting app. Unfortunately, none of them worked. Should I wait more time for new tools or there were existing apps I didn't know?

One of our Apple sources has just informed us that it looks like Apple has finalized the code for its upcoming iOS 4.3 release. The build, we’re told, is 8F190 for those keeping track. Hi everyone, I just want to ask your thoughts and suggestions about our POS software (point of sale) that was built to run on Android OS. You see, we are also interested in making our software run on a Linux platform. So we decided to consult informative Android forums, like this one on how we could do it? Linux is great in handling POS systems and it is also a free-source, which is also great. If there's a Linux app developer out there who could help us regarding this, it will be much appreciated.
