by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

On a highway in Munich, Germany, a Tesla owner recently sacrificed his car to rescue another driver having a stroke. According to Muenchner Merkur, the Tesla driver saw a VW Passat swerving erratically, hitting the guardrail several times. On closer inspection, he noticed that the driver appeared to be unconcious. So, the Tesla driver maouvered his car in front and slowed down gradually, forcing a gentle collision and bringing both cars to a halt. Continue reading... You should be excited about the iPhone 8 even if you hate the iPhone
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

Apple’s iPhone 8 will be the first iPhone in history to feature an OLED screen like the ones found on competing handsets from Samsung. Interestingly, Apple's frenemy Samsung is going to be the sole supplier of OLED displays for Apple’s best iPhone this year. But Apple is looking to fix this OLED “problem” in the years that follow, mostly since Samsung alone won’t be able to fulfill Apple’s iPhone needs. Continue reading... After reporting an increase in iPhone sales last quarter, and bolstered by mounting excitement for the iPhone 8, shares of Apple have been on an absolute tear lately. During the last three months alone, Apple's share price has shot up by 26%, reaching a new all-time closing high in the process. And just today, Apple shares reached an all-time intraday high after trading at $135.58 earlier this morning. Continue reading... Well, it seems that for its Valentine’s Day promotion, OnePlus has chosen to revert to its childhood with the creepy ‘LickOfLove’ campaign that […] Come comment on this article: Check out the creepy #LickOfLove video from OnePlus for Valentine’s Day Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

Apple’s history of ‘great design’ is anything but a myth
by Guest Yoni Heisler- 0 replies

Writing for The Atlantic this week, Ian Bogost published an embarrassingly hollow piece arguing why Apple's design prowess is nothing more than a myth. With more than 1500 words at his disposal, Bogost strains to come up with any compelling or even mildly convincing evidence to support his rather bold and eye-catching claim. Continue reading... Don’t ‘Netflix cheat’ on your significant other this Valentine’s Day
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

We've all done it. You're out of town, in a hotel room with nothing better to do. You know you shouldn't, but you just can't stop yourself. You open your laptop, navigate to Netflix and watch the next three episodes of that show you and your significant other have been binge-watching for the past week. It's a phenomenon known as "Netflix cheating," and while it's a serious offense, you can take comfort in the fact that you're not the only one Netflix cheating on your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. 104 new satellites are launching today to map every inch of your world

Getting a single satellite into space can be difficult — as Japan recently demonstrated — so consider the logistics of India' s plan to send a record 104 satellites into orbit today, and try to keep your jaw from hitting the floor. The country's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle is scheduled to head skyward soon and, if it successfully completes its mission, it will absolutely crush the previous record for number of satellites launched in a single mission. Last year, Playboy decided to stop doing what made it great in the first place: it stopped publishing nude photos and instead focused on other ways of attracting readers. That experiment is now over, however, and Playboy will return to the soft-porn roots you expect from Hugh Hefner’s magazine. Continue reading... Congress wants to know if Trump’s still using that unsecured Android phone
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
It’s still unclear what President Donald Trump really knows about the cyber, and whether he’s learning anything new while in office, but he does love to tweet. Worse, he reportedly uses an old Galaxy S3 phone to do it. That’s apparently his own unsecured handset, which he shouldn’t be touching in the first place. To make things worse, reports also note that the president received a safe smartphone to replace his personal device, but he doesn't seem to be using it. Following the string of reports that detailed Trump’s phone preferences, a couple of senators wrote a formal letter, inquiring about the kind of smartphone the most powerful man in the country uses. Huawei’s next big smartphone is officially coming later this month
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

Huawei is the sleeping giant of Android manufacturers: big in China, its phones are technologically great but not sold all that widely in the US. The company is hoping to change all that with the P10, the followup to 2016's P9 and the phone that will have to go up against the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8. Continue reading... The next iPhone’s fingerprint sensor could be like nothing you’ve ever seen
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The iPhone might get a display like no other smartphone out there, and it’s all starting with the iPhone 8. The device is rumored to have an all-screen front-side featuring minimal bezels and no home button. The fingerprint sensor should be embedded in the screen, and there’s indirect evidence that Apple might also include other front-facing sensors in the display. That’s something that nobody has pulled off so far, not even the upcoming Galaxy S8. Due in mid-April, the Galaxy S8’s top bezel is supposed to house various sensors, including the front camera and iris scanner. Even if Apple doesn't ditch iPhone bezels completely this year, the iPhone will still have amazin…

Japan’s failed nuclear reactor is still so radioactive it almost killed a robot
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

It's been over half a decade since Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station suffered a catastrophic meltdown which topped the International Nuclear Event Scale due to its severity. Radiation loves to hang around, and researchers conducting operations with robots inside the damaged reactors were met with radiation levels at their highest point since the actual meltdown back in 2011. In fact, the radiation level is so elevated that the robot operators had to quickly recall one of their robotic probes because it began to literally go blind. Continue reading...
