Pixie review: Finding stuff is now a game
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Even before Pokemon Go became one of the most popular smartphone apps of all time, it was clear that augmented reality is going to become a pretty big deal. It's still just getting started, but there are already some really promising applications of AR technology, which is why Pixie originally caught my eye. It promises to be "Pokemon Go for your keys" by allowing you to apply tags to precious items and then use your smartphone lens to track them down in the real world. After about a week of using Pixie I can say that like augmented reality as a whole, Pixie is promising but not quite there yet. Continue reading... Trending right now: ‘Pokemon Go’ is finally get…

Verizon’s unlimited plan returning causes T-Mobile One changes

Respect between U.S. carriers doesn’t exist anymore. When John Legere assumed responsibilities as T-Mobile’s leader, the wireless industry had no idea what was coming. Now there’s a much different landscape than a few years ago. One carrier makes a move, the others follow. It’s usually T-Mobile that alters its strategy and gets everyone else to […] Come comment on this article: Verizon’s unlimited plan returning causes T-Mobile One changes Visit TalkAndroid News via TalkAndroid

Mesh is the hottest trend in home Wi-Fi, so we tested every top system to find the best
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies
The market for consumer grade Wi-Fi routers had been stagnant for more than a decade until a new trend recently swept the industry. Setting up a wireless network in one's home used to mean heading out to a local electronics store, buying the cheapest blue Linksys box in the store, and living with spotty coverage. On top of that, those old Wi-Fi routers had all sorts of issues and typically had to be restarted at least once a week — sometimes once a day — because they would slow down to a snail's pace or stop working completely. It was a nightmare. Fast-forward to recent years, and consumers now have more options than ever when it comes to home Wi-Fi networks. What's mo…

The biggest caveats in Verizon’s new ‘unlimited’ plan
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies
First things first: there is no such thing as an unlimited plan. Sorry, US consumers, but it's a fact. After having done away with unlimited plans years ago, every major cellular carrier in the country now offers some form of "unlimited" wireless plan now. And in each and every case, the unlimited plan is, well, limited. Different plans have different limitations, and Verizon is the latest wireless carrier to throw its hat in the ring and launch a new "unlimited" plan. So, in this post, we'll take a look at the fine print and run down all of the limits in Verizon's new unlimited plan. Continue reading... Trending right now: Why Apple won’t just buy Netflix ‘Pok…

Samsung’s top exec is about to be arrested for allegedly bribing the president
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

Here's something you don't see every day: a massive scandal in South Korea could see the head of the country's largest conglomerate jailed and the president removed from office. In the latest chapter in the ongoing saga that's almost too crazy to believe, South Korea's special prosecutor's office on Tuesday confirmed to reporters that it will once again ask the court for a warrant to arrest Jay Y. Lee, the third-generation billionaire chief of the Samsung Group. Lee, a suspect in a bribery probe that reaches all the way to the president of the country, was questioned for more than 15 hours on Monday. The 48-year-old executive was apparently unable to convince authoriti…

SNL: Donald Trump appeals immigration ban ruling at ‘The People’s Court’
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

President Donald Trump isn’t ready to throw in the towel when it comes to his immigration ban. A court last week decided to uphold a ban on Trump’s own travel ban, and the president was very “vocal” on Twitter about how upset he was. The administration is expected to appeal the decision, and it may even issue other executive orders on immigration shortly. In the meantime, the cast at Saturday Night Live figured out what Trump’s best choice could be given the circumstances: Take the three-judge panel from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit who ruled against him to The People’s Court. These eyeglasses automatically adjust focus no matter where you look
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Just like most parts of the human body, our eyes have a tendency to get worse with age. You might take your ability to focus for granted now, but that could change once you hit late middle age and beyond, leading you to seek a solution to your situational vision woes. A team of researchers at the University of Utah may have come up with a fix in the form of glasses that automatically adjust to whatever you're looking at, eliminating the need for traditional "reading glasses" or even bifocals. These people-carrying drones will be cruising the skies by July
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Science fiction from the 1940s and 50s might have predicted we'd all have our very own personal flying cars by now, but back here in reality things are a bit different. Still, with Airbus, Uber, and others expressing some serious interest in creating personal sky vehicles for the world to use, it's clear that the flying car promise wasn't a total farce. In fact, Dubai might actually make autonomous flying vehicles a common sight as soon as this summer, and the city's transportation authority just revealed that it's been testing a self-driving, single passenger quadcopter from Chinese company EHang.
