by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

Dodge is no stranger to utterly insane street vehicles — after all, this is the company that makes the 700+ horsepower Hellcat variant of the already powerful Challenger — and now it's poised to unleash yet another rubber-burning beast upon the world. In a brief teaser video released today, Dodge announced that a new trim of the Challenger is coming, and it's going to be even more off-the-wall than the Hellcat. It's called the Demon, and Dodge is going to great lengths to get car enthusiasts excited for its eventual reveal. Continue reading... Fugoo’s portable Bluetooth speaker packs surround sound and insane battery life
by Guest Maren Estrada- 0 replies

Fugoo's sleek Bluetooth speaker is called the "Style," but don't let the name and the looks fool you. This hot speaker means business, packing insanely impressive battery life and 6-driver surround sound into an otherwise unassuming design. The FUGOO Style is also water-resistant, capable of spending as much as 30 minutes underwater with no problem whatsoever. And somehow this hot speaker costs less than most comparable models from rival companies. Continue reading... New Galaxy S8 leak says the headphone jack is here to stay
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies
The Galaxy S8 is shaping up to be the hottest new Android phone of the beginning of the year. Samsung is expected to unveil it either at MWC in late February, or during a special Unpacked event held in late March. Whatever the case, various reports say you’ll find it in stores only in mid-April. But if there’s one indication we’re getting closer and closer to the Galaxy S8’s launch, it's the increased number of image leaks that we’re getting. After seeing a dubious prototype image and a first Galaxy S8 case leak in the past few days, it’s now time to look at a brand new leak. And this one seems to indicate the standard 3.5mm headphone jack is very much in the picture. …

Autonomous Lily drone cancelled after $34 million in pre-orders
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies
Back in 2015 a drone was announced that seemed to fulfill what many people actually wanted out of a floating camera. The Lily drone was billed as "the first throw-and-shoot camera," and a fantastic video helped sell customers on the idea that you could throw the little quadcopter into the air and it would follow you around, filming your every move. It blew up and raised over $34 million in pre-orders from eager buyers at a price of around $800 each. Now, the company is folding, having never shipped a single Lily. Continue reading... Amazon Alexa is taking over the world, and you don't even need an Amazon device to use Alexa anymore. Just recently we showed you 5 hot Alexa-enabled devices that aren’t made by Amazon, and now we've got another great gadget to add to the list. The Blumoo Smart Control is a tiny little box that turns your Android device, iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch into a universal remote that can control anything and everything in your home that uses a remote. But it gets even better — combine the Blumoo with an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or another similar device and you can use Alexa voice commands to control your TV! Continue reading... Jeep and Ram trucks accused of Dieselgate-style cheating by the EPA
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies
The EPA has issued a statement accusing Fiat-Chrysler of violating the Clean Air Act by "failing to disclose engine management software" in 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and RAM 1500 trucks that use the 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine. Those accusations obviously sound a lot like what VW was found to have done in a range of diesel cars, using software to change engine characteristics in order to pass emissions tests conducted by the EPA. In VW's case, the "defeat device" detected when an emissions test was being administered, and lowered the engine's output in order to pass the test. The car then increased performance -- and emissions -- when being driven normally on the ro…

If you only use one 3D Touch trick on your iPhone, this should be the one
by Guest Zach Epstein- 0 replies

When Apple debuted 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in 2015, we all knew that we were looking at a feature that would become a staple on Apple devices for the foreseeable future. The technology was five years in the making at Apple, and it allows a device to read the amount of pressure applied to the screen. As a result, Apple was able to add a number of nifty shortcuts and tricks to iOS that are triggered by different amounts of pressure on the display. For example, pressing firmly on an app icon on the iPhone 6s/Plus and iPhone 7/Plus display will open a hidden menu with shortcuts to different features. 3D Touch is a great addition to Apple devices, and i…

The first ‘Supermarket of the Future’ is now open for business, and it’s crazy
by Guest Mike Wehner- 0 replies

If you thought Amazon Go — the funky corner store concept where there are no checkouts and the store automatically bills you for whatever you walk out with — would lay claim to the future of supermarket shopping unopposed, think again. Carlo Ratti, an MIT professor who founded the institution's Senseable City Laboratory to conceptualize how technology can impact the lives of city-dwellers (and who also runs the Carlo Ratti Associati design firm) partnered with Italian grocer Coop to create what it calls a "Supermarket of the Future." It's a grocery store with a tech twist, and it's now open for business. Continue reading... Trending right now: Apple’s ‘boring’ i…

Los Angeles college reportedly pays hackers $28K ransom
by Guest FoxNews.com- 0 replies

A Los Angeles college reportedly paid hackers a $28,000 ransom after a cyberattack kept students and faculty locked out of their accounts. The Valley Star, the Los Angeles Valley College school newspaper, reported Friday that hackers locked students and staff out of files, emails and messaging systems and threatened to delete everything if the ransom wasn’t paid within a week. The school eventually paid the fee in bitcoins after it determined that was the cheaper alternative than to remove the hackers’ ransomware virus. Continue reading... ‘The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth’ is finally available on the App Store
by Guest Jacob Siegal- 0 replies

Nearly a year after being rejected by Apple, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth successfully made its way to the App Store on Tuesday night. Rebirth is a remake of the original Binding of Isaac, which launched on PC in 2011. Although its subject matter has been the subject of controversy, the roguelike twin-stick shooter managed to find an audience, warranting a remaster for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Vita and 3DS in 2014. And now, despite having made no changes to the game (according to creator Edmund McMillen), The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth finally made it through the approval process on the App Store this week. HTC’s new Hail Mary: Two U phones with novel ideas
by Guest Chris Smith- 0 replies

HTC made two of the best smartphones money can buy, but the company can’t talk about them. The Pixel and Pixel XL are Google’s phones even if they’re actually made by HTC. Aside from the Pixels, HTC isn’t doing very well in the mobile business, but it’s not ready to throw in the towel. The company came forward with a couple of new phones which have new branding and novel features (for HTC phones). HTC avoided the early January CES show and didn’t want to wait until late February to unveil the U Ultra and U Play. It announced the pair of phones very early on Thursday in what looks like the company’s latest Hail Mary in the smartphone business Continue reading... T…

The European Union is looking to take additional steps to guard the privacy of European internet users. The new initiative might limit the power of internet companies when it comes to collecting user data for various purposes. Targets include Facebook, WhatsApp, Google, Apple and pretty much any other company that handles any sort of user data. The new initiative might, for example, force Google to stop reading your Gmail to serve targeted ads without your approval. Continue reading... Adobe’s AI editor could make anyone a Photoshop pro
by Guest Chris Mills- 0 replies

Adobe Photoshop is a ridiculously powerful GIF maker/photo editor, if you have a thousand hours to invest in online tutorials. While Photoshop professionals might not like it, Adobe obviously wants to make Photoshop as noob-friendly as possible -- and that doesn't just mean more magic Auto-Fill features. Adobe Research's newest project is a voice-based digital assistant that will automatically complete photo editing tasks for you. The appeal is obvious: rather than having to understand the difference between Magic Wand and Quick Select, you just tell Photoshop you'd like your teeth to become whiter, and it happens.
