Facing competition from all angles, Apple has seen its share of the video sales and rental market fall drastically in recent years. According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple's iTunes property now accounts for anywhere between 20 and 35% of all video sales and rentals, a precipitous decline from the 50% market share it enjoyed just five years ago. Intruding upon Apple's market share are the usual suspects, with Amazon in particular now accounting for 20% of the market. Amazon has been awarded some interesting patents in recent months, including a storage facility that looks like a beehive. But this latest one may top them all. The technology giant has obtained a patent, entitled "Aquatic Storage Facility," which would let it store products in "a body of liquid." The depth would be controlled by an attached cartridge and "ascend or descend within the liquid, as desired." The cartridge could then be "retrieved upon demand," the filing reads. Apple's AirPods are terrific earbuds... as long as you're willing to make about half a dozen concessions. First and perhaps most importantly, they take six weeks to ship.
