Unlike last year when HTC’s release of the HTC One was plagued by delays, the company is ready to push out the new HTC One M8 starting today on a much more aggressive schedule. As expected, the new smartphone will be available from Verizon today, including retail stores, starting at 1:00 pm Eastern time, so people could be out on the streets with the latest from HTC later this afternoon. This year has brought us some amazing footage from cameras plummeting from terrifying heights, including a plane crashing into the ocean off the coast of Hawaii and and a camera being tossed out of a plane and somehow remaining intact after crashing into a muddy pig pen. Samsung may launch additional Galaxy S5 versions this year including a more rugged model, just like it did last year with the Galaxy S4. Both T-Mobile CEO John Legere and Sprint chairman Masayoshi Son want you to believe that you're paying too much for your monthly wireless bills at AT&T and Verizon. AT&T mobile chief Ralph de la Vega, however, says you shouldn't listen to them because you're really getting a great deal with your monthly wireless service. With this latest update to this Google Search app, Google Now will be able to send you alerts if there is an incident that has halted traffic on your route. The inevitable has been delayed. According to both Nokia and Microsoft, the $7.2 billion acquisition deal will now be finalized at some point in April rather than at the end of March as the companies had previously announced. We have covered several of the regulatory approvals relating to the buyout over the past few months, although Nokia's statement reveals that the two companies are still awaiting approvals from several antitrust authorities in Asia. Google has been experimenting with putting its voice-enabled Google Now personal assistant onto desktop versions of Chrome for the past couple of months and now it looks like the company is finally ready to roll it out to everyone. Google announced on Monday that "starting today and rolling out over the next few weeks, Google Now notifications will be available to Chrome users on their desktop or laptop computers." Google has released a nifty new Chrome Experiment app, Photowall for Chromecast, that works with the Chromecast using the Chrome browser or your Android device. Using your smartphone or from your computer, you simply connect to your Chromecast device and you are then able to add images to a new Photowall. Perhaps a little bit unique is the fact that the app can be used from several different devices so a group of people, at say a party or family get together, can all take their own photos and add them to the wall. HTC has had the worst time keeping their 2014 flagship device a secret. While HTC Sense 6.0 is set to be released tomorrow along with the all new HTC One, the update schedule for the software was leaked today for existing HTC phones, answering a number of questions people had concerning Sense 6.0 and whether or not existing phones would get it. According to the leaks, the software will first be brought to the One itself, followed by the One Max and the One Mini. The One will be getting the update sometime in May or June, with the One Max and One Mini getting it in June or July. LG has released a second image of the upcoming Android Wear powered G Watch. The G Watch is set to be one of a number of devices to be released using the new Android Wear wearable tech platform, along with devices from companies like Motorola, HTC, ASUS and Samsung. In what likely means Google Glass is nearing a consumer release, Google has formed a new partnership with Luxottica. Don’t know who Luxottica is? They are the manufacturing company behind brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley. To bring these brands and Google Glass together with consumers, Luxottica will presumably use retailers like LensCrafters, which it just so happens to own. Despite BlackBerry’s dismally low market share in the U.S., it is still working on the next version of its operating system. And now we know what it will look like, thanks to some leaked screenshots picked up by PhoneArena. It looks like the new OS will feature an “Intelligent Assistant” that will presumably work like Siri or Google Now. The new OS also has a number of new features for its camera. It will be able to take panoramas and, more importantly, selfies with timers. The new camera software will also support taking 720p video at 60fps or 30fps. After Titanfall gave the Xbox One the boost it needed two weeks ago, Sony has come back swinging with Infamous: Second Son. MCV reports that PS4 hardware sales in the U.K. have increased by 106% since the game's release, an even bigger surge than Titanfall gave the Xbox One during its launch week. Infamous also debuted at number one on the U.K. game charts, pushing Titanfall to third place behind Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
