Google doesn't always launch major new versions of Android at Google I/O but we now have confirmation that it's going to do so this year. In a long profile of Google Android boss Sundar Pichai at Bloomberg Businessweek, the publication reveals toward the very end of the piece that Pichai "will preview the next [Android] release (Lollipop? Lemonhead?) for the first time at I/O rather than waiting until the fall." Last year we had to wait until the fall to get our first look at Android 4.4 KitKat but Pichai explains to Bloomberg Businessweek that the company has decided to push things up this year because "I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner." We'll be here to bring you all the latest news on Android and other exciting Google announcements when Google I/O kicks off Wednesday afternoon.
