Google turned sixteen a couple of days ago and to celebrate its birthday the company’s social media team took to Twitter to share a GIF of a gigantic birthday cake aptly decorated with a selection of colorful lollipops.
If you’re a follower of Android news, you’ll know that Google published a developer build of the next major version of its operating system earlier this year, which has temporarily been tagged Android L.
Speculation at the time of the announcement veered towards this latest version being called ‘Lollipop’, but that was short lived. A leak appeared online not long after, displaying the build title as Lemon Meringue Pie.
Now, however, we think it’s pretty safe to assume that Google has decided on the name Lollipop for its upcoming masterpiece. After all, it’s not every day you see a birthday cake adorned with several lollipops.
For the time being, though, we’re just going to have to wait and see what Google comes up with, so lets just take a moment to wish the search engine giant a very happy birthday…
Happy Birthday, Google!
