T-Mobile earlier announced the Sony Xperia Z3 will be joining their portfolio some time this fall. Although the timing was a bit nebulous, it appears the official release may be imminent. This is considerably faster than the timeline for prior Sony devices to come to the U.S. market. T-Mobile has been the only U.S. carrier to show interest in offering Sony devices to their customers, but in the past the release has typically lagged behind other markets by several months. Part of the reason for the faster release this time around could be the accolades Sony’s latest flagship received during IFA 2014.
T-Mobile has not commented on whether they will bring the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact to market. In response to queries, T-Mobile only asks Twitter followers to keep an eye on their press releases.
Sony has scheduled an event for next Thursday, October 9th, in New York City when it is expected to announce U.S. availability of their Xperia Z3 line of devices. We may also get news about whether any other carriers other than T-Mobile will offer the Xperia Z3 devices to their customers.
