New Hangouts update includes enhancements to SMS integration and better Dialer support

Google updated their Hangouts app today with a handful of tweaks and a Material Design look. It looks like there were a few more new features included in the update that fell under the radar, though.

These new features will be the most beneficial to those of you that use Hangouts as an SMS app and Dialer. Now when you want to toggle between sending a Hangouts message or an SMS, you can click switch between the two in real-time, which is a much more seamless experience. The Dialer portion of Hangouts will also now let you create new contacts from your recent calls list, which is also a huge time saver.
