SwiftKey for Android has just released a new open beta, SwiftKey 6.0 with new features such as ‘Double-Word Prediction’ that predicts the next two words you’re most likely going to type, and a more accessible emoji panel that is faster to load.
This is the biggest launch of new features and improvements SwiftKey has made since it has made SwiftKey free for everyone last year.
One of the biggest new feature is known as Double-Word Prediction’. This simultaneously predicts to a “mind-reading accuracy” the next two words you are most likely going to type. According to SwiftKey, this results in an up to 2X faster typing experience. The feature will also learn phrases that you often use to adapt to your personal writing style. The feature is located in the original prediction bar, and will work with over 100 languages that SwiftKey currently supports.
Another important new feature that SwiftKey 6.0 beta brings to the keyboard is a redesigned and more accessible emoji keyboard. You can access to it now by long pressing the ‘123’ key, and it is now faster to load. In addition, the emoji panel now has a most-recently used bar on top to allow the user to find desired emojis faster.
The settings menu has been completely overhauled in the new beta. The menu seems to be more streamlined with new labelled sections for the most important features such as, languages, themes, typing still and SwiftKey Account. This should make it less of hassle when searching for the right setting in the settings menu.
