Another carrier in Canada, where BlackBerry is headquartered, has announced that the new Priv will be sold online and through its retail stores at a later date.
WIND Mobile, Canada’s fourth largest carrier, launched a product listing on its site indicating that BlackBerry’s Priv is “coming soon.” This carrier joins Rogers and Telus as those in BlackBerry’s home country planning to offer its very important piece of hardware to customers. And BlackBerry needs all the carrier support it can get if the company wants to remain in the hardware business in the future. BlackBerry is banking on its physical keyboard and top-of-the-line security to attract buyers.
The Priv costs CA$899 in Canada, but WIND Mobile doesn’t have the price labeled there at this time.
This is right on the heels of BlackBerry accepting pre-orders for the Priv in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
