Just yesterday we told you that NVIDIA brought back its SHIELD Tablet K1 at a new low-price just in time for the holidays. Now we have a report of when SHIELD Tablet K1 owners will get hold of Google’s Marshmallow update.NVIDIA has made it clear that even though the SHIELD Tablet K1 runs Android 5.1.1 out of the box, it will be updated to the latest Android 6.0 software in the coming months. NVIDIA’s goal is push the update in time for the holiday season. Unfortunately, the company didn’t mention any information regarding the original SHIELD tablet thus leaving the impression that owners of this device won’t get the update for quite some time. This is rather odd because of how similar the two tablets are.
With Android 6.0, SHIELD Tablet K1 owners will be able to play around with microSD cards more easily and gain other features such as Now on tap, doze Mode and app permissions.
