Lenovo and Google’s Project Tango have announced they will be making a special announcement on January 7th right in the middle of CES 2016. This suggests Google is bringing another partner on board for Project Tango like they did with Intel during 2015. Other companies working on Project Tango include NVIDIA and Qualcomm and LG is reportedly interested as well.
Like any good teaser, the image released about the announcement does not share any details like whether Lenovo will be producing hardware for Project Tango or using the technology in their own devices.
We will keep an eye on things during CES 2016 next week to see what Google and Lenovo have planned relative to Project Tango. For those not familiar, Project Tango is technology being developed to enable mobile devices to determine their location in 3D through the use of sensors and cameras.
