The usual suspects are holding presentations during the trade show’s traditional early January run; however, we might get surprise appearances from other companies. You may recall last year when Google somehow put the spotlight on itself and won CES 2016 without actually being there. Who knows, that could happen again this year. And HTC, while not having an official press event lined up, is going to be active with its Vive virtual reality headset on display. So the Taiwanese company is certainly going to get much-needed attention. Even from the companies with around an hour of exclusive time to fill, though, we’re going to get interesting treats. Huawei is going to give the United States better focus and multiple automobile makers are going to unveil smarter cars, some of which can drive themselves. Those wanting to see the Galaxy S7 from Samsung or Sony’s Xperia Z6 will have to wait until MWC 2016 next month at the earliest.
