Samsung Galaxy S7 leaks are flying off the shelves. According to a new leak, one particular model of the Galaxy S7 has a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and vies for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC instead of the company’s own chipset.
Based on a recent leak, the Galaxy S7 would have a 5.5-inch model. Now it’s likely that there’s more than one model, perhaps even three. It’s very unlikely that Samsung would unveil just 5.5-inch and 5.7-inch sizes and not a smaller variant considering that’s what typically sells most. Rumors and reports are now pointing towards a 5.1-inch flat version S7, a 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Plus and a Galaxy S7 Edge+ with a 5.7-inch screen.
Other than the screen size, model SMG93, which is presumably the Galaxy S7 Edge+ will carry a Snapdragon 820 SoC. However, it still remains unheard whether the Qualcomm processor will be inside all S7 variants or just some. The other processor Samsung is readying is its own Exynos 8890.
The Galaxy S7 models are expected to include a new 12.2MP camera sensor in replace of the older 16MP one. It’s said that this will feature a larger pixel size, which could help in multiple aspects such as low-light performance. Other specs in the leak include 4GB of RAM, microUSB, a full metal body, pressure sensors, and a fingerprint scanner. TouchWiz is also expected to be more optimized for a better overall performance. Storage is said to begin at 32GB for the base model.
Lots of specs remain up in the air, however we should receive more clarification as we approach the official unveiling set for February just prior to Mobile World Congress.
