Ford announced today that owners of its newer vehicles will be able to interact with their cars via Amazon Echo. The company earlier revealed that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support would soon be supported as well.
With Ford’s Sync Connect and an Amazon Echo in the home, users will be able to ask Alexa a variety of questions about their car, such as the range of the vehicle. Users from the comfort of their own home can issue commands to their vehicle, asking Alexa to start the car. While in the automobile, through AppLink, users can speak to Alexa to control Internet connected devices in their home like their lights or the garage door.

Ford has been placing a heavy emphasis on connectivity within its vehicles recently. Just a few days ago the company announced that, via its Sync system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay support will be coming in the near future.
Mark Fields, Ford’s CEO, revealed that Echo support would be coming to some of its newest vehicles later this year, probably around the same time Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support will be available.
