Huawei showcased the Honor 5X at CES 2016. We later discovered that the Honor 5X would be brought to U.S. shores. According to a new report, the Honor 5X will be among the handsets to receive Android 6.0.
Based on the report, Android 6.0 will make it to the Honor 5X some time in the future. Additionally, EMUI4 will also rollout to the Honor 5X, which is the latest version of the company’s custom skin on top of Android. It’s great to see that Huawei is treating the Honor 5X as a flagship, and I’m sure buyers won’t mind the extra attention.
Notably, the Honor 5X will also get Android security patches. This will keep the device prone from attacks and viruses. However, it remains to be unheard whether these will rollout on a monthly basis. We can assume so just because of the popular trend among other manufacturers. But we’ll have to hear from the company first before we can confirm anything. The Honor 5X is said to go on sale January 31st, and receive an update that same day containing the first patches, don’t expect Android 6.0.
Pricing for the Honor 5X will run you $199, which is a great value for what you get. Some of which includes a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 615 chipset and a 13MP rear-facing camera that’s capable of taking some nice shots. The Honor 5X will also include impressive battery life and storage expansion, which are becoming rare in the industry. Just the design of the Honor 5X alone makes it worth the affordable price tag.
If you feel the same way, you can pre-order the device now on Amazon or check out some neat accessories here.
