CES 2016 may have come and gone, but the main event, at least where we are concerned, is the Mobile World Congress that is held in Barcelona next month where LG and Samsung could go head-to-head by releasing the G5 and Galaxy S7 on the same day, February 21st. Naturally, the closer we get to the date, the more frequent the leaks appear, and today the HTTP user agent data has emerged, signifying that the LG G5 will sport the model number LG-H830, moving on from the G4’s model number of LG-H810.
Besides the model number, the LG G5 will unsurprisingly run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, carrying a secondary display on top of the primary screen panel, in the same fashion as the V10’s ticker display which shows notifications and other functional information.
Spec-wise, you can expect to see Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chip providing the grunt with the Adreno 530 powering the graphics for the 5.5-inch Quad HD display, along with 3 or 4GB of RAM for multitasking purposes. On the design side of things, the G5 is believed to feature an all-metal build, as well as a slide-out battery with 2,800mAh capacity. According to reports, there will also be dual-cameras on the rear of the handset, with Laser Focus and a dual flash. An 8Mp camera will provide the selfie love on the front of the device.
Don’t be surprised to see the leaks increase in frequency between now and when the MWC opens its doors next month, hopefully, LG will manage to keep some surprises up its sleeve to surprise us on February 21. Until the next leak appears…
