HP has released a new Chromebook designed for the education market. It is also meant to be inexpensive, lightweight, and durable with a long lasting battery.
The HP Chromebook 11 G4 Education Edition (EE) is only 20 mm thin and weighs less than 3lbs. It is also fanless and has co-molded rubber edges to protect it from drops. HP says it passed their 70 cm drop test with no problems. A feature I really like is its spill-resistant keyboard. Now you don’t have to worry about spilling your drink on it and losing all your homework. Also, my favorite feature is it has a 180-degree hinge that allows the Chromebook to lay perfectly flat. This is a feature I wish more Chromebooks would have.
As far as real life use, its battery is said to last up to 9.5hrs before needing to be charged. It has a Intel Celeron chip inside for speedy browsing, and optional 3G/4G connectivity allowing students to work from anywhere.
The HP Chromebook 11 G4 EE will be available in the US later this month and pricing starts at just $199.
