HTC is working on a new flagship for 2016, the HTC One M10, and all indications are that HTC received the message from consumers that they really needed to step up their game if they want to regain some of their former luster. Rumors indicate HTC plans to pack the smartphone full of some of the latest and greatest hardware available so that it can compete against anything on the market in terms of specs. HTC also appears to be on track to lose a feature of their previous models that will please fans as much as anything they could add.

Twitter tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, indicates in a tweet that HTC will lose the strip on the front of the HTC One M10 where they plaster their logo. Manufacturer logos are a common feature for smartphones, but most companies figured out a long time ago that users are okay with them on the back of the device. Putting them on the front merely draws the ire of consumers and HTC was no exception to that rule as the HTC logo strip was almost universally disliked.

HTC is expected to announce the new flagship smartphone for their portfolio at an event in March.

R.I.P. Branded HTC strip. Never has a logo been hated so much, by so many. pic.twitter.com/c9B8eYaG8I
