Sprint announced today a bit of an overhaul of their data plans as part of an effort to lure consumers to their network by simplifying things. Building on their Simple Choice branding efforts, Sprint has dubbed their new offerings “Better Choice Plans.” The big selling point that Sprint is trying to make with the new offerings is that they offer double the data available from Verizon for the same price.

Consumers can sign up for the new plans starting tomorrow, February 19th. Sprint is offering five different “sizes” for the plans, ranging from Small to XXL. All buyers have to do is pick the size of the shared data bucket they want and the number of lines of service. Once users hit the data limit on their selected plan, Sprint will throttle them back to 2G speeds automatically or users can opt to pay a $15 per GB overage fee.

All of the plans include unlimited talk and text as well as Sprint Global Roaming, unlimited international texting from the U.S. to 180 countries, and mobile hotspot capability.

In addition to the new Better Choice Plan offerings, Sprint is also running a special on their Sprint Unlimited plan. The current deal is offering a fourth line free so that a family of four can get four lines at an average cost of $37.50 per line.

Sprint is also targeting Verizon customers with the latest deals by offering to cover switching fees for Verizon customers who move their numbers over to Sprint. The carrier will pay up to $650 per line subject to a variety of conditions and requirements.
