Twitter tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, posted a simple image a short while ago that will likely draw a lot of attention. The tweet alleges to show the front and back of the forthcoming LG G5. The new flagship smartphone is slated to be announced only a few days from now as LG goes head-to-head with Samsung on the flagship announcement field.

While leaks regarding the Samsung devices have mostly been about things like changes to the software or internal components like the camera sensor, LG’s changes for their flagship G series phone are more noticeable. As clearly seen in this latest image and heavily suggested in the past, LG is moving the volume controls from the back of the device to the side. Instead, a new fingerprint sensor will be located in the center of the back of the device, just below the new camera module.

Although not discernible from this image, LG is reportedly on track to include an always-on display and will also pack in a secondary display similar to what they did for the LG V10. Earlier today an image surfaced showing the removable battery module that LG has developed for the G5. The new image shows how that will look when slid into place in the phone. LG is believed to have developed this new battery module to be able to produce a smartphone with a removable battery that also is built with a premium metal body. Typically metal body phones are sealed, so LG is hoping to offer a unique option for consumers. This would also address one of the points we hope to see from LG with their premium smartphone.
