All of the rumors claiming HTC would skip MWC 2016 for a separate event ended up being true. Instead, HTC plans to hold an event of its own, possibly on April 11th to launch its new flagship smartphone. Today, HTC took their first approach in delivering the new One M10 flagship by teasing it all across social media.
The leaked image from HTC shows none other than the device’s top corner edge. It appears to be made of metal with plenty of chamfering going down the sides. Underneath the image is the hashtag “powerof10.” This leads us to believe that the device will have M10 in the name, unlike previous rumors that suggested a new naming scheme called HTC Perfume. Perfume may have just been a code used to represent the device up through this point. Now it sounds like the naming scheme will remain the same following up on the One M9 from last year.
Just like LG’s flagship G4, HTC’s M9 flagship didn’t live up to the company’s initial expectations. Recent leaks and rumors are suggesting a slightly different approach on the design front, which is expected to look more like HTC’s One A9 that launched not too long ago. The One M10 is also expected to carry high-end specs including the latest Snapdragon 820 processor. Other reports say the device will make the switch to AMOLED. We’re expecting nothing less than Marshmallow with HTC’s latest Sense 8 user experience on top of it.
