Huawei plans to hold an event just four days from now in Berlin. We’re expecting a set of P9 smartphones to be released. Based on a leak, we have some new images to show you and details regarding pricing.
A few days ago we passed along a report that the Huawei P9 would come in four variants including the standard Huawei P9, Huawei P9 lite, Huawei P9 Max, and an enhanced Huawei P9. Below are some new images of what we believe is one of the above models. In the images we see an all metal body, as expected, a slim form factor, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. This will probably be the same fingerprint scanner as the one embedded into Huawei’s Mate 8.
At the top of the back side there’s a bar housing sensors, similar to that on the Huawei Nexus 6P. There’s also a dual rear camera setup with a two-tone LED flash. The power button, volume controls, and SIM card tray will all be housed on the right side of the handset. Perhaps the most striking design element is the handset’s razor-thin side bezels. For a spec roundup, check out this post written by a member of our team.
I’m betting that a handful of you are curious about the price. The P9 lite is expected to go on sale for around $289 USD, being the cheapest in the collection. The Huawei P9 Max will be the most expensive of the four at $627 USD. Huawei wants to have a phone perfect for everyone’s needs, and that’s what the company is attempting to emphasize with this lineup. We’ll pass along all the official details as soon as they become available this Wednesday.
