When Samsung announced them at MWC 2016, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were scheduled for a March 11 release date. It was impressive to see the company have its flagship ready so soon, but it’s a huge surprise that carriers are shipping phones sooner than expected.
Now all of the four big U.S. carriers are shipping the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 early.
T-Mobile, just one week after the handsets launched, started shipping the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 to customers. AT&T and Sprint then joined in doing the same last Wednesday. And today Verizon customers are receiving notifications that their shiny new phones should be arriving soon, possibly before Friday’s official release date. We’ve seen posts online and tips in our inbox claiming that Big Red is following T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint with an early surprise for customers.
Anyone who pre-ordered the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will be able to claim a free Gear VR from Samsung. Individual carriers and retailers are also running their own promotions.
