Yesterday we informed you that Google sent out their monthly updates including the latest security patches. Unusually, the Nexus 5X’s update is said to include an additional boost in performance.
Apparently Google thought the Nexus 5X wasn’t performing up to its potential and has included some tweaks in the device’s March security update. This comes from a Nexus Community Manager who posted on Reddit. According to the manager, the update was in response to recent user feedback. Based on the Reddit post, some Nexus 5X owners complained of sluggish Wi-Fi, camera shutter lag, a delay in fingerprint recognition, and some performance bugs often making their handset feel slow. The Nexus Community Manager said that changes were made to improve overall stability, connectivity, and performance.
The update has begun rolling out to Nexus 5X units in waves. If you haven’t received it just yet, try going into your settings under ‘About Phone’ and then ‘check for software updates.’
Have you experienced such issues on your Nexus 5X recently? Let us know in the comments.
