Samsung just added a new Galaxy J1 Mini to its lineup of low-end smartphones.

The Galaxy J1 Mini is aimed at low-end markets. It has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and measures 121.6mm x 63.1mm x 10.8mm in size. Powering the handset is a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 768MB of RAM. The rear-facing camera is a 5MP one and the front is of 0.3MP. The Galaxy J1 Mini comes with a 1500mAh battery and 8GB of internal storage space. Android 5.1 will be included straight out of the box.

The Galaxy J1 Mini fails to incorporate 4G, but does however include dual SIM compatibility. Other sensors include USB 2.0, GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. Pricing is currently unknown, but we’re expecting it to be somewhere south of $100 contract-free. The handset has already been listed on the company’s product page so it should be available in low-key markets soon. Samsung is expected to start its rollout with the Philippines.
