Pre-orders for Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are doing even better than expected, according to the group’s mobile chief Koh Dong-jin.
Speaking out at a recent press conference in Seoul, Koh Dong-jin expressed plenty of confidence in Samsung’s latest pair of handsets, claiming that both gadgets will top their predecessors.
Discussing the success in pre-order sales for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the company spokesperson said: “There are positive reviews about the new phones overseas, but it is crucial for us to win recognition from Korean consumers”.
“We made all-out efforts to develop the S7 and it will exceed its predecessor S6 in sales.”
Despite his comments, Koh Dong-jin didn’t disclose Samsung’s sales targets for its latest releases. Even so, he admitted that Samsung is hoping that the sale of the Galaxy S7 will go some way to reviving sales over in China, a region that researchers claim is an area of struggle for the technology group.
We recently reported on news that Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge pre-orders in South Korea have been disappointing, leading many to suspect that people are less hungry for high-end costly flagship smartphones. Despite the reports, Samsung remains positive.
Following the pre-order period, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will both be going on sale globally from Friday.
