NVIDIA, in partnership with 2K Australia and 2K Games, has released Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in their line of Borderlands games which includes the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2. Borderlands: TPS is slotted in the timeline between the two previous titles, a position that makes it an interquel according to NVIDIA.

Fans who have played Borderlands 2 will realize that for Borderlands: TPS they are playing as none other than the main antagonist from the former title, Handsome Jack. In the game, as Handsome Jack the player is working for Hyperion and is leading a group of up to four playable characters. The goal is to regain control of Hyperion’s Helios space station that has been captured by a group called the Lost Legion. Besides the new title focusing on the Handsome Jack character from Borderlands 2, players will find the other characters they can control were either a non-player character or a boss from the other games in the series, making for a nice little switch for players.

Borderlands: TPS is a first person shooter title that gets some new gameplay mechanics, low-gravity environments, new weapons and items, and some new unique attacks compared to the previous titles. One thing that remains relatively the same is the game engine that produces great graphics on the NVIDIA SHIELD. The title also includes multi-player modes so you can play with friends and fans in a co-op mode.

Borderlands: TPS is available for the SHIELD Android TV platform for $14.99. If you have a SHIELD Android TV, head over to the Android games store to get a copy or hit the Play Store link below.
